Well after hangin about on here for ages I finally decided to put a thread up about my Polo.
Myself and mate Carl taylor bought this car about 18 months, it had been built for about 3 years and was full of one of bit's including the g40 turbo conversion.
It had seen better days and had no interior and needed alot of work to get it to where we would be happy with it.
Having always been a fan of the Berg Cup I'd always planned on building my own version of what is a very popular car in the serie's, so when this came up we had to get it!
Since we bought it we stripped it to a bare shell in preperation for entering the car into sprint's and hillclimb's.
As we organize the PLAYERS show we decided to use the car to help promote the show and set about making it a bit more show than go. Like alot of Berg cup cars we decided to go for a mad colour of wheels and matched it to the matter cage.
After the Ultimate Dub's show it was decided we would enter the car in the VAG TROPHY series so we needed to get serious.
Out came the cage and off came the silly big wheels and the car was stripped again for a full MSA approved cage.
We then had a carbon rear diffuser made by Performance trim..
We fitted a MK3 dash along with the essential gauges. all the sound deadening was removed and a pair of Cobra evolution seats were installed. Next was a CAE shifter to shorten up the changes to the cup spec box.
Suspension wise KW are building us a track spec kit which should hopefully be ready in Jan. We repalced the turbo with a new one and may well add DTA just to make things a bit easy to map and mod.
Wheels wise we dropped down to 8x13 alleycats and will be runnin Avon slick's on track. Unfortunately we only got one test session in october but was ended short by the fuel relay blowing.
The car is off the road this winter for a bit more of a clean up but here is the fu;; spec and a few pics......
