Anyone else got any mad-dash projects going on? These are mine... Came across this massive (1/8th?) Bratz Mercedes 300SL with remote control. Put in a full set of new batteries (takes 9!!) and it still works Also scored 4 expensive rechargeables in the battery tray already! So after making sure the working lights and radio are functioning (lucky kids, I had to make my action man a car!!) I'm getting stuck into it. The chrome is awesome and unbroken so it will all get stripped, rubbed back, and done in shiney shiney black. Tan interior and some fine colour coding will make for awesomeness! So my little sister will get it, which is really an excuse to get it but whatever... The other is a 2000 Fender, originally covered in grafitti, everywhere, in a bad way. Rebuilding it for the son of a girl I work with for his birthday (18th) /Christmas. Nasty grafitti eh? Was all over it. Originally cream so now rubbed back... and going satin cream/beige with pearl red scratchplate and cream tuning knobs. New smaller strings for his wee fingers and a check over the electrics although everything seems fine there. That's a good thing as I wont have to spend ages re-wiring like the last one I built! Am I alone?

Anyone else got any mad-dash projects going on? Am I alone? Maybe not as mad, but on a bigger scale....I'm about to put my house on the market and move to somewhere isolated, rural and away from the hustle of city life. Found an awesome place to buy in my dream spot. Hope to go mortgage free and re-start my life. Fingers crossed I get the stuff done to the house to be able to sell it then live the dream! (if you saw the place and the location you'd understand......RR dream home and then some!!)

This at the moment: Electric fire/surround for a few quid. Chucked the mdf surround onto my bonfire pile as it's knackered and it stinks. Fire doesn't work as the wiring is in need of a sort out and one of the switches is broken. Sanded and spraying with hi temp matt black the brass part as it's corroded and same with the other black metal parts. polished the grate front up which is now silver as the brass was just paint or something coating it that was very thin. Washed the coals and the plastic parts just need to source a new switch. :-)

Probably just rebuild my MTB. All the hydraulic hoses are too long and the bushes/oil in the forks are past their best.

Well whenever you start moving your stuff and you feel like you need an Irish moving party, you just get in touch Tim you need a proper project! trust me rustproofing a trailer is way more effort than its worth - soon as you use it it gets scratched! First coat of Satin Beige went on the Fender tonight

I will be mostly in the barn getting a milling machine postitioned, wired in and running then try it out by removing loads of metal from some bits of stock that are lying around also sorting a maestro, triumph, landy and the trailer possibly playing with a new car

I'm halfway through building an active crossover for my homebuilt subwoofer (1000W ;D ) Here's a pic of the sub: The green one is mine, the orange one i made for a mate. They're about 6' tall. Also will be knocking together a motorbike battery-powered radio-controlled car horn, for a little practical joke... After that, I have a few ideas...would like to make my own electric guitar...

Are those T-Line boxes? I seen to remember an SPL Anglia fitted with those about 12 years ago! It used all proplus kit.
Look great - this Christmas, I will be mainly fitting an Ipod connection to an old Matsui stereo.

@rysz - they're actually a folded, tapped horn design. Gets maximum bass volume, at the expense of some sound quality. Does the job though ;D When I first tried one out at full volume, half my pint glass collection on the shelf next to it fell off....

Nearly forgot my other "modification"! Home bar, with beer line cooler and homebrew on tap ;D Cornies, gas, fonts, flashchiller. Very nice. When I finally get a house sorted and get out from the the feet/thumb of the former SWMBO, project1 is a bar, one beer engine, one multi-tap font, with gas, and low pressure regulator for the beer engine, and normal pressure for the font (then I can run cask ale in a cornie and keep it longer using co2 as a blanket rather than to add fizz.

Meatball - Good set-up you've got planned there. Do you have a background in beer equipment??

Absolutley none at all. I'm stealing inspiration from teh interwebs. Only ever made one bottled homebrew and it was good. Planning on a turbo cider or two first, then back to some ales. Job 1: Find house. Job 2: Build bar Job 3: brew.
Unless I get one cheap I'm planning on using a old fridge with a thermostat hack rather than a flashchiller. And I been told the best way of getting cheap gas is welding suppliers, but don't tell them it is for brewing or they get pissy about "food grade" bottles, even through they are the same kind of bottle as a welder.
