My mates BEFORE it was lowered (looks about the same height as yours judging by the wheelarch clearance) This is how low it is at the moment....but he is working out how to go lower still (currently researching how to run in on bags)

Have some lowered Hilux Surfs: Not sure if this one's lowered, but it definitely ain't lifted. I think the fact it has wide, chunky tyres and deep dish rims on stockish height works really well: Love the arches too, look OEM but are a lot wider. Found a very lowered one with a bodykit, looks good from the back but I don't like the front bumper, just doesnt work that well IMO: Nice wheels: EDIT: Just noticed it looks like the locking hubs have been removed, so it must be RWD or fulltime 4WD now Best angle: [/img]http://images.japaneseusedcars.com/auction/stock/cars/photos/suv/080/0802352/J/0802352A20080803C01102.jpg[/img] I kinda like the second one, but I know it's kind of 'wrong'. First one is much better IMO, and it's the earlier model which I prefer. I like the slammed Pajero Exceed, not a fan of the wheels though. Like MM it's something I've wondered about for a while. My Dad has a standard SWB 2.5 and high speed cornering is 'interesting'. Lowered ones are probably a lot more chuckable, with much less risk of turning over I guess. A SWB 3500 V6 lowered would be awesome, especially if it's height was adjustable for off roading.

When I had my L200 I'd thought about a matching lowered one for SWMBO. I was gonna cheat though and buy the low 2wd version then stick all the Warrior gear on it with standard rims to match the 4wd version.
But then I broke the engine. And the same with my next L200. After that she wasn't keen!

I was gonna do something along the lines of Bryn's S1 L/R with my truck........got the engine/box combo right........but just couldnt bring myself to drop it :-( My plan was for a RWD V8'd drag truck, dropped to the floor and using NoS but didnt quite happen that way!

It's always going to be a winner dropping a 4x4 as far as you can, as it's so far removed from the original image people have. That said, remember the Land Rover I have was built that way, it's not been lowered. I think to get the best results you're looking at a proper amount of work. The kitted Vitaras were pretty low anyway, I'd go non Fat Boy body spec for that reason alone and choose my rims carefully. I've got one in the barn if you need any dimensions, I'll be home in ten days

Here's a real lowered 4x4: P99 Fergie, won the first and only 4WD Grand prix victory, Sir Stirling doing the honors at the Wood in '05.

Ok I lied, more: Some of them are rather chaved, and in all those photos, those aren't the worst - I missed them out! However some of them have a few good bits about them, so I thought i'd whack them up anyway! And something a little different: Stolen from our very own Pete Tong :

There's a Rav4 with wideboy arches and lovely wheels in the car park next to mine at work, I'll try and grab a snap of it - but it looks lovely.
I say do it. Lowered 4x4 is an awesome plan!

I'd real like a low classic range rover please santa My plans are being held up by my inability to find a clean 2 door Rangey shell at a cheap price, once we get a month of so into the new year i shall be looking at more unreasonably priced ones. :S I know what chassis and running gear i want to use and they are cheapish and not to hard to find, so i'm hunting down the tricky bit first.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.
