I'm pretty sure that if I put it back on the road, DVLA would soon get to hear about it. People need to keep their noses out of other people's business then. People need to abide by the sensible rules the DVLA put in place to allow modifications, otherwise they'll just continue to make it more difficult if folks decide to keep flouting it. MOT Testers are obliged to report vehicles presented that are not as per the registered details, so you believe they should put their jobs at risk by turning a blind eye?

I'm waiting for a new hip at the moment, so that's slowed progress down, but I should be back to it in a week or so, as far as BIVA test goes, I just don't think it's an economical proposition for the amount the car gets used. New hip now installed, so I should be able to start on the car again in a few weeks

Could you not have got 2 hips installed and finished this thing twice as fast?

Sorry, this is pub talk and not true. Testers are not obliged to 'dob you in' though thay can refuse to test it.

I love twin engine projects... On this one I don't know if I could have kept myself from leaving it stock on the outside with a cover over the rear engine made out of glassed together suitcases for the ultimate sleeper...

I am obliged to take the curse word out of all the young blades in their civics and similar when they come in for test . As long as the Vehicle isn't in a dangerous condition and the numbers tally up where applicable no reason to refuse to test

Thanks for clarifying Froggy, I should have been clearer in reason for refusing to test. I just hate seeing these myths being stated as fact.

I have no problem with the MOT, my tester has already said that there is nothing on the car that he could fail it on.

Long time since I updated this, but I'm still going at it. A couple of weeks ago I decided to let a pro do the final prep and paint on my front wings and rear arches, well after a week I went to see how he was getting on with the first wing, he hadn't done anything for 7 days, then decided to simply throw some primer on it, this was the result. So, needless to say, I took my bits back. rather than try to sort out the mess I decided to start again ( I was never entirely happy with the shape of the arch anyway) So here we go again. replacement wing sourced and integrale arch cut and screwed in place. And I've decided to video the process this time.

We'll it's took me a few days here and there but I've just read the entire thread. And now I'm having visions of this 'Volvano' 😉 showing Porsche GT3's up at the nurburgring.
You have a gift young sir and if your ever looking for an apprentice to teach the dark side for the force to, give us a call. Seriously though have you done anything remotely this extensive before? What's the future plans for this?
