i didnt think it was brilliant tv, wanky pile of curse word peugeot vs very lightweight frogeye with 130bhp geared to 95. just seemed like another pointless non-conclusion. a cool old car thats been tinkered with is faster than a modern pile of curse word.
is that seriously one of the best modded cars in the uk in that style. cos it was hideous yuck

I'm with SeventyNine - mind you, as a BOC member, I wouldn't have wanted Prescott's lovely Armco trashed by something as vile as that stupid Pug...

That Pug was pug-ugly. If he took all the plastic wibblepoo off it and removed the stereo, then sorted the suspension out it might have a chance. FWIW, I thought Perry was being gentle with the Frogeye... ACE, though

impmann - it hasn't been Mr. Mcarthy for a few years now.
HTW - How about Focus ST vs. tarmac-spec mkII Scrote?
They put the Focus RS up against a forest-spec one a while back.

Now now, now then. Now then! Now. Then. Then. Now!
Sure, we all thought the Pug was hideous (Didn't we?) but remember, the Pug owner probably thinks we drive nasty cars as well. Live and let live.
Hey! I'm in a generous mood. Not bad considering it's work again tomorrow. rats. Open another beer...

Tyre development is a seperate thing to car development and gave the Escort an unfair disadvantage as the limits of the tyres were reached before the limits of the cars abilitys.

I think the knobbly 13" forest rubber was more of a disadvantage than the ply when compared to 15" cut slicks.

i watched it...thought it was really good...glad the Sprite won! the pug would of stood more of a chance without all the heavy stereo and hydrolics...

Didn't like the body kit or the colours or any of that stuff,.. but that Pug was Serious! ... Hydraulics, 3 litre V6 squeezed in there, whilst not to my taste the electrical set up would have been hard work for someone.
Would have been interesting if they had got like for like cars though. If they wanted old against modern modded stuff a modern J-car modded for speed vs. similarly priced old car modded for speed, say... race tuned Austin Healy 3000...
THAT would have been interesting.

there was a lot of work in that pug and no mistake - fair enough he probably just signed a few cheques for it rather than got his hands dirty but there's still a lot of work for someone. and yes we don't like it but he loves his car and that's what matters.
i'm glad the frogeye won though.... i do suspect it may have been closer, or even a reversed result, in the dry.

So what's Ben Collins doing hanging around there all the time? I wasn't that impressed by the 'hydraulics' on the pug...It seemed that the front juddered up and down a little...and not much else. Where was the three-wheel motion?! *n
