Driver's side is now solid...Hurrah!! Ended up doing five seperate patches on the sill and struggled to get the remains of the wing to weld due to being so thin Car is now turned around so i can do the passenger side, looks like i should be able to get away with just one patch got the next few days off work so gonna get that done as well as getting some red primer on the floorpans inside and booking it in for MOT.........should be interesting More soon Steve

Have you had good weather for it? That always makes a difference eh. At least you'll have it back on the road for the rest of summer!!!

Well if you were at the Gathering you will know this never made it simply due to more welding than i anticipated on the passenger side so packed it in and bought another bloody Land-Rover ;D so i had some wheels for the show but it doesnt mean ive neglected this old bird.... Last weekend me and Mr B8D went off to Beaulieu autojumble for a rummage around and i happened across a pair of wheels that i just couldnt say no to.....so they came home with me ;D A pair of American-Racing 15inch slots in 4inch pcd the tyres were shot and the wheels were covered in corrosion but after a bit of a scrub and a dab of autosolv i felt the need for a test fit...... They fit perfect! Just need to ditch the 185's for a pair of 205/50's and purchase a set of wheels nuts&washers then they can go on to stay, gonna hunt down a pair of 14's for the front I'm possibly gonna be selling Drag-Rover in the near future so the Viva will have its home back in the garage and i can crack on with the bodywork as its getting me down walking out the front door every morning to see it looking sad for itself sat there with a tarp over it More soon i hope Steve

I'd go for 13s on the front. You'll never find 14s skinny enough to make it look right and 13s will make it more cartoon and less 4x4 which is a good thing.

oooo throttle bodies, what they off??do tell, do tell? Honda CBR1100Blackbird throttle bodies just hunting down an inlet manifold to cut up so i can fit them! I'm hoping that with an injector change i may be able to run these on standard management to start with but eventually going Megasquirt. Craig, I'm not sure whats happening yet on the wheel front......just watch this space

Slotmag test fitting - TAKE2 Took one one wheel to work and swapped the tyre for a 205/55 then offered it up once more..... Muuuuuch better! Looks like i may stick with this size of tyre for the back, just need to find some wheels to try on the front. Steve

Right then... Have kind of made a slight u-turn on the engine mod front and bought this... Mitsubishi turbo and a home-made manifold(in need of ALOT of tidying) to suit the Twink courtesy of RobinSexWithYourEyes ;D Have decided to go the windy snail route with aftermarket management and see how it goes, the head will be coming off to loose some meat around the valves to try and lower the CR a little but i expect i will be looking for some different pistons pretty soon.....i hear that C20LET pistons can be made to work AND these turned up this morning which i wasnt expecting... I'm a little dissapointed with the quality but it was either these or continue welding up shagged originals i can make them work so no bother really Still aint managed to clear space in the garage so car is still sat outside looking sorry for itself but mark my words........actual progress will continue soon! My love for this battered old Vauxhall has come back and I'm eager to get back to finishing it properly Steve

Be interested to see how you get on with those wings, as mine will need some at some point in its life! Also looking forward to comedy turbo action. That manifold looks rough, but it should do the deed just fine *eagerly awaits updates* Really need to do my ACTUAL update haha

Mitsubishi turbo and a Farmyard-made manifold(in need of ALOT of tidying) What's the plan for the old wings? Could do with a good bit of arch to try and save the dent in the rear of mine.

Robin - I shall try and not disapoint ya dude ;D Mark - The wings on the whole look dead easy to fit in terms of actually attaching them but i suspect will need work to get the panel gaps right and are just a little too flimsy in my eyes so might add a bit more F/B to the rear of both to stiffen them up a bit. I'm looking forward to some boooost too ;D Craig - Great minds an all that, i was hoping to rebuild some of my rears with the remains of these but I'm willing to share Gonna do a bit of clearing up in the garage at the weekend and unload some of the curse word out of the back of DragRover so that can come outside for now and the Viva can have its home back for a few months......first job might be getting the Twink out so i can give the sump to mr B8D for a turbo return to be attached and so i can get the head off for some attention. More soon Steve
