Wicked!!!! I must agree- its sweet when you get a foreigner to work in your engine bay!
That came out wrong..
Anyway- engine sounds good- at least through my tinny laptop speakers...

Some nice chap delivered a propshaft here earlier ;D Sleeve/spacer thing made by that lovely chap Craig, stuck together by that top bloke Si ( B8D ) shame i had to put some paint on it! lol Been trying to finish the exhaust tonight which has been a bit of a task due to lack of funds to buy anymore bits so had to make do with what i have here, the hardest part was getting it over the axle without touching it or the upper suspension arm (got about 2-3mm either side ) I'm not convinced that its gonna clear when on the floor but we shall see tomorrow..........gonna just clamp up the rear silencer and cabletie the whole lot up when i get home then take it for the first test drive ;D ;D ;D If you don't hear from me tomorrow eve..........presume the worst Steve

use semi synthetic in the type 9 not atf. ive always used a decent quality ep80 and atf 50/50 mix you get a good change (not the tight clunky cold changes with the 75w80 that ford specify) but still pretty good for longlevity the atf gives good anti foaming properties to the ep oil and decent shock and sheer strength.... saying that ive used strait atf fine but maybe ive been lucky? cant wait to see this and hopefully see it strutting its stuff on the dyno day this sunday///.... si

Ummm................bloody heck! Thats a bit different ;D Test drive was a success! Not long got back from the extended test with Si around the highways&byways and i must say I'm bloody impressed with the initial results, it cruises at legal speeds effortlessly, pulls really well from low in the revrange and just keeps pulling ;D ;D ;D from there after.....if i had a working speedo it might have been saying naughty things apart from a few little probs like an exhaust that hangs too low and is currently held up with cable ties and a slightly fried throttle position sensor nothing went wrong on our 5-6mile thrashgentle drive. I need to address these issues and a few others before the weekend but on the whole we shall count this as a 100% success Steve

i must say.. i am lucky enough to have a drive in this.. and to be honest i know its far from finished. and there are a multitude of small things to do..
it drives bloody nice!!
quiet and fast.. it is a propper sleeper. it can drive very sedately and lazely.. but if you feel the need to open the throttle it certainly has some poke too..
I'm almost certain there is more to go. (maybe the last part of the throttle action can be used on a slightly fettled leverage system) its not even loud with no hint of "IN YOUR FACE!" about it.. but it will shure supprise the local gti crowd...
top work steve.. be real proud!!
