Scanned in some old photo's recently and thought i'd share some of my previous retro motors (some more retro than others ) First car, Escort 1.3L.......... ........ bought in 97' for £200, which i resprayed........ ......... Still have the thing, 8 years later Another Escort, less retro and frankly curse word: Bought for £50, sold for £250 after nothing more than a polish. Not all bad then! Then....... Not my actual marina in the pic, i never got one of that. Mine was a dark brown 1.3 2-door coupe Now, a cautionary tale..... do not buy one of these: The only thing that stopped it bieng so fall-asleep-at-the-wheel dull to drive was the huge amount of panel damage.... head turner! Then: Absolute dream after that mk5 escort heap It was a 2000SC auto, cool as hell but rotten as a pear Next, Diahatsu Sportrak 1.6 EFi........ Again, not the exact picture, mine had a bullbar on the front, which came in handy when i wrapped it around a bus stop The thing was an animal though, 1600 injection with a straight through exhaust and a bit of induction work, it was a real flyer! Finally, my current ride (along with the mk3 escort project)..... BMW 316i, really nice car this, dead reliable. There, thats the story so far ;D Plans for the future are to own another P6, this time a V8 and something like a mk4 or 5 cortina, and maybe a mk1 granada or a capri

ive only had 2 road legal cars, this one and the fiesta mk3. 1.1 pop, looked like an xr2i, with white doglegs and 2 cibie oscars, proper rally slag! was slightly barry, in the fact that it was only a 1.1 but looked like an xr2, but i liked it nonetheless! squint and it looked like this, i never got a photo of it, i only had it on the road 23 days before i planted it into a tree!

Gah. I'll have to go round me mum's & have a look to find some pics of my old 'rides'. Anyway, here's a list in roughly chronological order: 1985 Skoda Estelle 120LS (vomit orange, KN Jupiters, in the weeds) 1983 Mini Mayfair 1991 Pug 205 1.1 (15in black steels? oh yesh!) 1986 Ford Escort 1.3 pop (Barry-esque special. Yuk.) 1989 Vx Astra Estate (faded blue, GTE wheels, in the weeds) 1990 Vx Astra Estate (white, GTE wheels, in the weeds) 1982 Toyota Carina 1600 DX (the TURDMOBILE of actual legend... poo brown, polished trim rings, in the weeds) 1993 Vx Astra.... very dreary but clocked up 30k in 14 months 1974 Ford Escort wagon - now in the care of Rev. Deluxe 1978 Morris Marina - infamous matt black snotter 1990 BMW 318iS 1958 Landrover pick up

I like the look of that Alfa 33.
I was gonna buy one of those a few years back... glad I didn't though - the one I was looking at looked like swiss cheese 6 months later.

Nice selection Mr B! I remember a white Fiat 130 saloon from when I was a kid. And is that Audi a 200, possibly a Quattro?

Well, that one does look nice… but was just as crusty as all the others, plus the steering rack was full of marmalade and pebbles. Sold for £100 to a lad who was going to rob the engine for a beetle project.

Wow - some people have owned alot of quality retro metal. The only cars other than my current two rides that could now be considered 'retro' (though probably not at the time of ownership) Are my two VX Novas. This was my first car way back in 94' a 1.2L 4 door saloon (still cost me £550 to insure ) The second Nova was a completely stock facelifted 1.2 Merit 3 door hatch, which I sold to get the Derby
