Supaslot wolfies at £20 a piece!! Those were the days ....... Excellent thread you are doing here...... lent my collection to my brother many years ago and his wife threw them out. I was gutted at the time. Needless to say he has since come to his senses and divorced her a few years back. Any chance of scanning part 1 of the avenger project?

if I can find it I will do yeah I bought a lot of mags a few years back after our originals got eaten by mice in the garage.... needless to say these are stored in the top of a nice dry wardrobe gonna try to get all the 75 mags scanned tommorow after work... and then make a start on 76... in case anyone noticed , the pages missing are ads for things like bodybuilding machines.. (muscles not coachbuilt) so I didnt see the need to include those My personal fav from this mag is the 37 quid price tag for a webber and inlet manifold kit lol.. or 11quid per wheel for brand new revos!!

Chris Montague Carburettors was up the road from me. It disappeared in around '95. I remember going there with my dad for some SD1 related reason and then again on my own to get stub stacks for the 1098 I put in my A35

I like thumbing through old Custom Car mags when I visit Chez Akku. Amazing how stuff has changed. £60 for a pair of new twin 40's! Agh! Next time someone tells me we have it easy these day's I'll whip out that lil pearl... ;D ;D ;D
I got the urge to get me a few old mags now.

If you're going to post pictures of naked girls/pornography, I (and others) would really appreciate at the very least a warning on the title to say so. This site is accessed by underage people and is open to the world, nevermind the members that will find it offensive and out of place. IMHO it shouldn't be allowed on the site whatsoever, but then that's just me trying to make sure nobody gets offended rahter than ploughing on ahead.

I wouldnt exactly call it porn its only a bit of nip ;D Plus its only the mag in its original form i cant see who would honestly find it offensive! Anyway gotta go get some tissue....

There had been a discussion on whether these pics would be allowed and I am responsible for handing out the relevant pass. I'm a big fan of keeping the site clean, but I do consider CC and their soft-porn days to be an important part of our scene's history. I said in the original discussion that if the thread becomes about boobs rather than cars then the thread would be locked or deleted. I'll add a warning to the thread title, but remember this is history, not gratuitous flesh - think Michaelangelo's David rather than Club International!

I'd never have thought that a walk down memory lane could cause such debate never mind offence. it all looks rather tame compared to the standards we accept as 'normal' today. Isn't anything in those old custom cars that you won't see in newspapers and magazines that are on sale to everyone including minors....... let alone the stuff you see on TV.

I love old copies of CC. Tits don't bother me in the slightest. I think I would be offended if CC was glamorising systematic genocide of a species by instigating massive flooding, though...

Oh, and I love that first cover! The 'What, no apostrophe?' bit especially tickles me, what with me being a grammar nazi and all.

Brilliant!
Strangely enough, although that issue was published before I started buying CC, (early 80's), I have had that one in my posession at some point. I recognised the Caddy with the girl on the bonnet! :s
Used to love Super CC, made me LOL! Although my less gearheaded schoolmates didn't get it so much.
And I'm another that's not remotely offended by a little flesh! <thumbsup>
Did find though twoards the end of the 80's that it kind'a went a bit euroboxy.

Did find though twoards the end of the 80's that it kind'a went a bit euroboxy. I kind of lost interest in the mid eighties too..... the scene lost its way here in Britain when easy credit became available and folks could go out and buy the car of their choice rather than get their hands dirty putting many hours in to creating their 'dream' car. Today there has to be an element of 'instant gratification' or your average Joe just ain't interested.
