Never seen the full one before that, just the snippet ones! The site is ace, check out the S500 section it has an ace bit of it revving up, VRARRRR, VRRARRRRR! But isn't it ace how Honda really seems to show off its heritage like this? It's great in a time when the rest of them just want us to concentrate on their new models only that they can show us something like this. Vrrrrrrrrrrardoooooooooon!

Its good to see a major company proud of their heritage. Even the C90 - the biggest selling motorbike EVER. Wicked advert. I love it.

lol at a c90 motorbike! yah so many companies hate their old stuff. watch the old jealousy ads for peugeot and see as they hide their 504s and crash their 305's... and skoda are the same, vw are currently trying to get them all off the road underhandedly and ford, well ford, they just cant get enough of rebadging their old cars and selling them as new lmao

Honda are a bit different like that I suppose, I remember reading a bit back that Honda UK bought back their original Civic press car from the 70's that had been through a few buyers since so they could restore it and take it to shows for promotion. Daihatsu did the same with their first Compagno.

I saw the whole thing a couple of weeks ago on Channel 4, oddly enough it was on when Top Gear (which I can't stick) would have been on BBC2. Initially didn't realise it was for Honda, and thought bad continuity when he first changed bikes....
Agreed with above, think it's a great ad and good that a manufacturer respects their heritage.

Initially didn't realise it was for Honda, and thought bad continuity when he first changed bikes.... First time you see it, it is a bit WTF!? Very clevah though, & it would be nice to see more manufacturers acknowledging their past (rather than producing a pastische of someone elses - MINI)... or worse trying to erase it. Re. the Honda C90... I had one of those briefly... like an elephant on a skateboard - frightening. I crashed it & burned my leg on the zorst. Nice.

Agreed with above, think it's a great ad and good that a manufacturer respects their heritage. My thoughts precisely! A few years back an exhaust valve on my 1982 Civic broke. I went to the main dealer to try to get a valve, they didn't have one but they did take pictures of the damaged one. A few weeks later I got a letter from Honda in Japan, apologising for the failure and arranging a free service for my car at the local Honda dealer! Proud of their heritage AND great service, even if you've not spent thousands on a new car!

Did I read somewhere that the s500 was basically a small car with a slightly modified motorbike engine? -whilst looking for this pic, I also found this CRX on this forum-auto thread - loads of interesting old Hondas there

Actually the Honda 'Cub/ Step through' range (C100/50, 50, 70, 90, CUB) is the biggest selling vehicle EVER! Over 40 million and still rising (even a factory in China as well now). First one was called the Honda 50 c100 (don't know why they called it '100') that was sold in our shores in 1959 but didn't take off till 60's. Theres even one in the science museum in Kensington London.
