If you're anywhere near Ramsgate in Kent, I know a guy with another one. A local guy has an X-reg (1982, I think) Gamma coupe in that Royal Blue colour, that he bought for £200 - it may even be that very one from Ramsgate, as I know he bought it in Thanet recently. So far it has needed new front discs which had to be machined down Citroen items, and I've helped him with the Weber carburettor wiring, also today the rear lights. It now runs quite sweetly, and most of the electrics work - shock, horror! One snag he has is that the headlamps are pointing low. They appear to have a pneumatic/vacuum-controlled height adjusting setup, but does anyone know where the control for this is on the dashboard? Also, where to obtain a new air filter element - they seem to be very thin on the ground...

I'm sure the headlamps are worked from an attachment on the rear axle that senses if the boot is loaded up,try going into a decent motor factors to try and match them up,although i can't remember if the gamma has a really odd shaped airfilter.
always liked gamma's went to look at a berlina once, but even as a beta owner the prospect worried me a bit!

Wasn't it just the early ones of these that had the cambelt/PAS issues? I'm sure I remember reading that Lancia sorted the problem on later cars. Mine had had the PAS disconnected so it wasn't an issue - still perfectly manageable without it.

from what i have read they made the problem much less likely to happen with the redesigned pulleys etc but wasn't 100% apparently. The later version is on the left, note the extra idler

Major kudos for the rare coupe, now sort it out and drop in a more powerful and reliable Alfa engine.
