	When I bought my first car back in 1981 the car I really wanted was a BMW 323i. I can remember seeing the County Race series at Brands Hatch and the sound those engines made. Finally, after a few old nails, I finally have the car I wanted. ;D It's no longer a 2.3 but has been given a hike in performance thanks to an e30 2.5 complete with chipped motronic injection. Going to have a full free flow exhaust system and induction kit next week prior to a rolling road session and live remap. Aiming for 200bhp although I'm unsure just how close I can get with a new cam. Anyway, we shall see. Thanks to being such a light car it's plenty quick enough. Suspension is Spax with uprated brakes from Black Diamond & EBC. I have a pair of Brembo callipers lined up for the front in an effort to lose some more weight. There's an LSD out back and a home made strut brace up front. Wheels are 15'' Fondmetals. I have black leather Recaro's to go in shortly and the rear leather seat from either an e30 or an e24 (6 series) depending on which looks the most trick? Future plans include a single wiper conversion and single headlights leaving room for a direct air intake where main beam currently resides. There are loads of other little bits and pieces, like braided hoses, clear indicators etc. Anyway, on to some pictures... I owe these guys a thank you for helping me sort out the Blaupunkt sounds... One day....

	thats a beauty! Be interested to see what power you manage, I was lead to believe you need the 2.7 eta conversion to make 200bhp. Might be worth going to a panel filter in the standard airbox, if this is poss in the e21, as I know a cone filter saps torque big time in the e30 323 / 325s. I'll be watching this, such a wonderful shape these cars

	I've modified the standard air box ready for when I am able to get a panel filter. I might even go back to a regular standard one? I also heard that it was hard to break through 200bhp mind you, even 190 plus will be enough - for now - and I'm pretty certain I make that much. I have a hi torque cam in the pipeline (Cat Cams) and combined with a 6 branch and decent exhaust I am reliably informed that it is possible to see 200 from a healthy 2.5. At the moment though, because I'm not dragging round electric windows and a boot full of ICE etc, it certainly surprises more modern BMW's. Thanks for the comments so far guys - much appreciated.

	Suberb looking car! You should see 200 without too much hassle with headers and remap. If I remember the E21 shell was stiffer than the later E30 too. Looks nice with either the Fondmetal or original Alpinas.

	Check German flea-bay as Fondmetals do come up. You can just get them cut & polished here. Just got home with a nice pair of leather Recaro's. Just having a brew before I go and fit them. I plan to give them a good clean and dye them again but I'm going to wait till the rear arrives and do the whole lot in one go. pics to follow

	I got some time on the grey 323i this week doing some engine bay prep for the M50 and did some seam sealing over Bodieandoyle's epic welding due to the replacement sills and fresh metal in the chassis rails/inner wings. The engine is ready to drop in when I've got another spare hour, then I just need to hook everything up and weld the boot and rear wheel arches myself. It needs to be finished for the next trackday in april so it should be a nice winter project, though time is sparse.
