So, after my thirsty (governments fault not the cars) 325i I fancied somthing realy good on fuel, classic and german was the theme so I found thease two stunning gems on p/heads, well out of my modest budget but got me thinking... This is the way forward, cheap parts, cheap insurance, cheap tax, ect... I realy wanted a metalic colour 4 door for some reason and I found this which I'm going to (fingers crossed) collect tomorow.. Needs a tidy ... I then plan to dump it on some 13s like the above cars..question is on what rims? I will be using the 175/70/13 which are on the car as rimstyle actualy specify this size for 7 & 8x13 ATS rims. You might think they are a bit big walled but it should be like this- Anyway here are the choices and prices, I'm realy torn on this. 7x13 alleycat. £280 a set inc vat. 8x13 alleycat. £320 a set inc vat. 7 or 8x13 or staggerd ATS cups £450 a set inc vat. Are the ATS realy worth all the extra beans??

New search for nice 15's...

15s eh? If you can get them shipped then XXR rims are a good size and price. 165/45/15 apparently. Naughty, but nice. You get the idea. There's a Vortex thread full of XXR/Sportmax action here. This place ships worldwide.

13s on Mk2s are most definitely for the win. Here's mine on 13x8 allycats, before the helper springs came out:

I'd go for 15s if I had a Mk2, I think that 13s are just a bit too small for the size of the car.

i personally don't think the mk2 pulls off the 13's very well the arches are just to big for them 15's are a much better choice and what i use on daily driver mk2 GTI 7x15 lensos with 195x50x15 yoko prada 2's 13's on the same car for comparison fine if you just want it very low but i found it to much of a compromise for a daily car

I would have to say 15" g60 steels me thinks Company on the bay doing them for 150 a set which is cheap.
I am running 8x16 porsche rims on my rado on 195/45 rubber and am as close to the ground as nightmares golf on 13's so maybe i should keep quiet ;D

Thanks for the replys guys, the american rims are the dogs, but shipment costs about £350.
I like the lenso bsx and will have a new set on 195/45/15 if the 9x16 AZEV A rims i have don't fit..
13s are a no no as i cant have it that low, too many bumps round here.
I have just heard the big ends on the golf!! only had it a few days and the bottom ends gone! I will sort it though, as its a mint car apart from this.

Well, ive just won a set of 15" Lenso BSX in silver on shaftbay, so as long as i don't get scammed I'm sorted.. Just a set of coilovers now and i can get on with the other project and drive this one. So glad ive got rid of the E30, i seem to have so much more money now its not being wasted on fuel!
