Someone that uses this forum has taken it upon themselves to cause grief for me and Pogweasel, mainly it seemed aimed at Pog, causing issues for him on his website, reporting his ebay auctions as fraudulent, stuff like that. Last week though they decided to take over one of Pog's ebay accounts, put my name, phone number and home address on it. So I've been getting phone calls all week from people who this account has bought things from (nice aircooled VWs by all accounts.. some good stuff in there). Whilst this is a five minute thing for me, it is a real pain for the people they have "bought" off.
This person now has two options. They can stop this, right now, and nothing will be taken further. Or if I receive just one more phone call this week, I'll be taking up the Identity Theft criminal charges that the Ebay Trust and Safety Team now have enough evidence to pursue.
I'd prefer this to go away, purely from a personal time point of view. However I'm sure the people of this forum would like to know who they can and can't trust, so ... one more call, or my friend Nick getting more grief from you and this will turn from a private internet annoyance into a criminal issue. Up to you.

I hardly think that kind of thing is done as a joke is it? Surely if you were to do it as a joke you'd put something funny in there instead of someones real name/address/number and you'd make the auctions funny like selling something risque or politically amusing and apt. If it is a joker then it sounds like its gone a bit too far and overtaken itself, however having been in a similar situation before its not funny and is very serious, thankfully ebay clocked when mine was hacked (i suddenly started to sell a Corvette, a Mustang and an Escalade! would have kept the Mustang at least!! lol) and prevented it doing anything. Still a right P.I.T.A. I hope it all resolves itself, good luck finding the person or persons involved, maybe some RR justice can be metered out  |

You'de have to be the dumbest of dumb fecks to think doing that was a laugh reporting auctions, OK i've done that to people who've messed me about on ebay but hacking an acount that's more than a bit beyond funny IMHO hope you get it sorted, if not tell us who and i'm sure we'll bombard them with silly phone calls at 4AM ect |

HW: change your phone number, the hacker obviously has ALL YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS, its time to change them. In my experience, someone doesnt go to those lengths unless they bear a grudge.
and how can anyone bear a grudge against HW? - he's so warm, approachable, welcoming and above all fair.

if I had a grudge against you HW, I wouldnt use your forum. If you would like a more detailed statement, that can be presented to a court, let me know I also have no grudge against pog (i notice his personal avatar no longer appears when his name is typed), and, more importantly, I don't have your personal details or pogs's, nor any inclination to hack ebay. EDIT: pog left this forum because of the cr2p he was getting here ( from someone who also gave him sh1te on prac. classics forum, and followed here), and your inefficiency in dealing with the culprit. retro rides has never been the same, perhaps when you speak to pog, you will give him my best regards. |

This kind of thing is not funny at all imho, and I fail to see how it could ever be construed as a joke of any kind.
If the person in question did hack eBay how did they get his details, I assume by some sort of spam e-mail? If so they're just asking for trouble.

hope you get it sorted hotwire (and pog for that matter) . its not a nice or funny thing to have done. anybody who finds it funny are as much a lowlife as the scum doing it IMO personally i wouldn't be anywhere as lenient as you HW and i would have them done anyway

I went through hell and back due to some joker on ebay and forums, which culminated with him emailing me a photo he had taken of himself holding a very large knife whilst standing on my front doorstep after tracking me down trough various forums I use.
There are a lot of petty, small minded curse word out there who will happily bear a grudge for the rest of their lives over something most normal people would find insignificant, and every now and then, one of them crosses over from irritant to proper nutter.
Nip it in the bud while you can.
And give my regards to Pog, I didnt know that chap, but he seemed a decent sort and the forum has lost a little something since his leaving.

I don't see any problem with this being in the main part of the forum. It's HW's playground at the end of the day and he can put his threads where he likes. I don't think it's fair for him to be targetted as a result of being a big name on here.
