Hi guys, I've had a productive day on the old Capri, went to quite a few shops - physically - I know!! Not even ordering off of the internets! However, I'm struggling to find some decent fuel hose -
I bought some the other week, and have used it as a retrun pipe, but it seems a little weak and I'm reluctant to use it as the main line - its quite thin lined and doesnt have the threading going through it. Can anyone suggest a place I can get some as its all I need now to at least attempt to turn over my engine and take it from there!

Any decent autofactors should have it, make sure you tell them its high pressure though to be sure.

Think Auto - thinkauto.com iirc. They based near Heathrow. I've had very good service from them in the past, and they've cheaper than DT

How high is the pressure you plan to have in the fuel system?

I don't know, I presume there are some clever maths to work it out? I've been planning on using 8mm internal pipe and the fuel pump I have pumps 255 Litres per hour

When i converted my cortina to EFi i just walked into a car spares shop and bought some high pressure fuel hose, every spares shop round here do it ,it's not rare or anything? OK halfords aint gonna carry it but i've got it in 3 or 4 differant places, cost me last time £15 for 10 metres rated to 6 bar. cortinacentral.bravehost.com/EFi2.html

Right, well the place I bought the other fuel hose from was Jim Barrows, they said it was strong stuff but not known as 'high pressuer'. It has relatively thin walls and no 'threading'. I've been to Halfords, Motorworld, LVW senar, Jim Barrows, and Formula 4 and none do it, Motorworld are the closest but can only supply it in 1M lengths!! Have I really got to rely on clicking a mouse to get everything for my build? No wonder the high street is dying!

Halfords should do it? All the ones I worked in did. Should be on a black cardboard pack, coiled up, above the oil and fuel filters. They sell lengths of about 2 metres with a few hose clips in a pack

I need 5 metres of it though, noone seems to stock a reel or be able to supply decent amounts, halfords Ive found to be generally a bit curse word for stuff.

please don't build you car from parts from halfords ;D. you shouldn't need 5m lengths of hose anyways, i'f your running it under the car you'll find it will sag between the clips you use to fix it to the floor. unless you fix it every 5 inchs or so it will look a bit silly and may be a risk of it catching on something esp if your cars low. i used 8mm copper pipe running from front to rear under the car when i converted to fuel injection. just flared the end slightly using 8mm dies in a brake pipe flaring tool i have.
