Well, it will be a short report, as we only did 3 nights out, and about 400 miles. We go to the Retro Rides gathering every year, and when we decided to get married, Nicola suggested we go to the RRG '10 and then off to Bath in Somerset for a few days with the Teardrop, which had not been built at the time. (It would have been in the Transit, which ultimately did not make it this year) We also brought my Brother over to join us at the wedding as a witness, and to spend some time here in the UK. He slept in the back of the VW in a single bed mattress..... perfect !! The trailer proved itself to be watertight, as well as perfect for our camping trip. It also drew loads of attention and I was asked a few times where I had bought it, with some people not wanting to believe it was home built. PERFECT !! Married, and most of the photos taken.  Just one pic of my younger brother, life saver, and great friend.  Our spot at The Gathering. BBQ up and going, with Lewis checking out Nicola's Pink scooter, perfect for campground duties. The powered bike is one he built for the Gathering. He and others were hooning about the whole weekend on it.  Marital duties for the man of the house.  Stunning campgrounds at Bath.  |

Forgot to mention, she completely surprised me by arriving in this truck...... Redneck bride indeed. Her Bouquet was Proteas as well, another surprise, the South African national flower.  |

The trailer is great, I loved it! Thanks Siert, I have to say, like mentioned before, we do enjoy the trailer, it just seems to deliver on all of our needs. Got to move Myrtle to her new garage yesterday, and the bus and motorbike in there today, but Nicola says she (Myrtle) is not impressed with the dormitory set up, sharing with "boys" Teardrop went in first..... on Friday. Note the gap on the trailer Myrtle was on, Teardrop has same gap, being widened and spaced out.  Motorbike and a small trailer both fit in behind Myrtle's cute little butt.  |

The garage looks awesome!! Lewis and Lew, Thanks, it is amazing, but the loft space is already half full, and the floorspace almost full as well. I suspect there will be a bit of consolidation at some point.  In the mean time, take a look at the new cheaper version and prototype of the GrizzPod. More like home from home. Brian Box helped with his trailer and tow vehicle to move the shed over to the new address, Nicola wants it for her potting shed, and it will now become a "Beach Hut" with paint job and small deck and verandah.  Will be moved another 2 meters to the left into the bushy bit.  |

Hi Rian, I've just spent a good few hour reading though this thread and WOW you and Nicola have had a busy year!! Congratulations on getting married and getting the new house sorted. I wish I had a garage that big, my new Workshack is like a potting shed compared to my old one!!!! Jealousy??? Maybe just a tad  The teardrop looks great, certainly worth all the time and effort you have both put in. |

Just to top it all off, my boss called me on Friday to inform me formally that I had been selected for redundancy..... so from end October I am unemplyed for the first time in my 47 years, been working since age 17, and this company had me the last 14 years. But like I said elsewhere, Hey Ho.... off to find work I will go. Still have your plasma cutter stashed away in the garage, just shout when you have space for it again. You were really spoiled with your old workshop and space you had. |

Thanks guys, I have a first interview on the 5th Jan, and if they like what they see, then a full day assessment centre on the 25th (Not had an interviewin 14 years) Fortunately up to now I have done loads at the new house, and Nicola was the one who kind of forced me to take some time out. Back to happy times, and Christmas and New Year celebrations. Yesterday I received a big box in the post from Sun Valley , NEVADA. Knowing it was from Johnny Dye, teardrop builder of infinite skill and ability, I decided to leave it on the kitchen table to let Nicola open it when she got home from work, as she likes to do stuff like that. When she came in, it was like Christmas all over, fighting her way through the layers of sellotape, delivery notices, and international customs declarations. First out , a lovely Christmassy shopping bag with a fold out, 3D card from Johnny and Terry, followed closely by 2 pairs of fluffy Christmas socks.........now next up I had to wait for Nicola to get one pair onto her little trotters, then we could continue. Miraculously, the fairy candle light holder they had sent, had survived the trip, putting a beaming smile on her face (she has a thing for candles and pretty holders) Then she pulled a second bag out the box, peeped into it and gave me a look I have not seen before...... and proceeded to pull a load of stuff out one by one. The pic will show it all together. Johnny and Terry, you guys are great !!!! To take the time to get to know someone and know what makes them tick, takes a special person. To then go about collecting bits from all over, over time, that makes a HERO in our book. ( I know how good it feels to find something special for someone) My parcel included two Sinclair Oil metal wall signs, WOW !!, various stickers, badges, including the eNVy sticker that will go on the rear of the trailer, and some others which will be hidden inside the trailer along with some real Nevada Silver flakes to protect them. We had a good laugh about the John Deere stickers, as I have real John Deere baseball cap, which I am not allowed to wear (apparently makes me look even more like the "redneck" I already am) They will find a special place too. The trailer has taken a real back seat since moving here, as there has been so much stuff to do, but better weather, New Year and hopefully a new job with a car should see it back on the road, or behind the Transit bus.  |

Well, there was a bit of a surprise.
Thanks to those of you who took the time to vote for various categories in the RR's Awards for 2010.
I realised that with the trailer passing the 45 thousand views mark, that the thread was popular or being watched by many, so getting my name called out at the Ace Cafe last night made some of the aches and pains of building the trailer worthwhile.
Thanks for the votes.
I personally thought the Long term garage modification and Barrel Back boat threads are pretty awesome too.
There is a lot of good stuff on this board.
Tim ( Bratman ) and I had a lengthy discussion on the merrits of creating a self build kit for these trailers, and Nicola has also mentioned on a few occasions that I should build another one to sell.
I think those ideas need to be kept in the shoebox under the bed untill we have sorted all the stuff at the new house and I have a new job.
