A recent purchase. This funky little one-old-lady-owner car was due to get cubed after she rear-ended another car with it but after lots of phonecalls by me to the insurance company the lady managed to get more money than their original offer and retain salvage. She sold the car to me so that it could be saved! Got Insurance ascessor to Cat C it instead of cat B.
This early example of 120Y with its vinyl seats and diddy 12 inch wheels has done only 47,000 miles and the interior is like new. I have had to put some hours and money into this including getting the inner wing professionally pulled, and fitted NOS Datsun bonnet rad panel, grille and wing to do the job properly. Thats before I even tackled the famous inner wing trumpet and A pillar rust.
Car is looking a lot happeir even though Its not painted yet. Can't decide whether to repaint the whole car or just the new panels.
Anyways, with only 15 or so of these cars left, It was more a labour of love than a profit making excersise. I need to get it VIC'd by VOSA then I can cruise it.
