Lordy! How's that gonna work? I'm not saying it'll be straight forward, but will be an easier conversion than a VTec or a K-Series (although converted subframse are available for these already). I would guess the engine size and track width are pretty much the same as the Mini anyway?

Lordy! How's that gonna work? not sure yet, it all looks around the right sort of dimensions though, and the plasma cutter and welder will make it fit mmm, 1300 twin cam and 5 speed box for the same price as a rattly a series pics will be supplied when it gets started ;D

Sounds like a great idea. Sure a VTEC or K-series would be easier, but this is certainly interesting. Should make a very 'useable' car. Will you be taking down details of what you do and how you do it + any other bits you have fabricated, thus allowing others to follow in your footsteps?

Wouldn't it be a shame to not put a turbo on it after all that work...... Sounds like a great idea. Sure a VTEC or K-series would be easier, but this is certainly interesting. Should make a very 'useable' car. This is what i'm hoping, everyone i know who's had a k series has always had head gasket trouble, and i don't want to have to be lengthening wings / having bits poking out grilles / bulges everywhere, also, i only really want it for some back road fun, and a vtec would be too much for that i think, its only got 165's and i'd have though with a vtec it'd just smoke the power away! a picture and text account will be available as progress commences

also, as the micra is on 12" wheels the gearing should still be about right, and only being a 1300 its cheaper tax and better economy if i want straight line power the V8 cavalier or the mazda are good for that

That’s gonna be great, the engine looks noticeably more compact than a K, if you can bosh it in without having to lengthen wings etc it will be a superb conversion. Is the Micra really a 1300? I thought only the ‘sporty’ Super S version was 1.3, the others were 1000.
Lob a pic up of your mini, is it a clubman or a ‘round-nose’ job?
