... well, I wouldn't want to disappoint you,...i bought a SKODAAnother Rapid too. Dunno whether you can read that, but the speedo says, 23,000 miles, not 123,000, but 23,000 miles! ;D Body wise, it's had it's sills patched and one of the wings is a bit dodgy, but it is all nothing compared to the car one...this one also has the mintest most spotless interior i have ever seen...even has the original Skoda smell that i remember from our estelle's back in like 1996.!. the only bad bit is it's in Barnsley, and has a blown head gasket...but we'll manage to over come that. Got it for a really good price too, so can't go wrong! Question is, to modify or to not modify?

Of course you will modify it. Being white I think you can pull off a stupedously cool looking car with mininal effort.
As low as it will physically go, clear lenses, as little 'clutter' as possible, centrelines on the outside.
Then a monster snorting 100bhp++ lump just to make it go like it should ;D

NickB's suggestions sounds like a definate option, or go full on wide wheel euro or summat. Sure looks like a neat mota. So how many skodas do you own...?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm in two minds about modifing, seems a shame to of let it get this far and then to modify it, esp. as i have the red one to mod. also, any mods i do i want to reversable. i now own the red one (might be reshelled ), this white one, and the green one is becoming a section track car.

If you do mods that can be reversed, your not harming the originality.

Either way, keep on saving those rapids! To own so many cars at such a tender age....wish I'd thought of that!

I saw about 5 skodas outside a house today in Brighton, a few of them looked pretty cool. Slammed with nice rims, looked like golf wheels or something. Anyway, cool car, put a dub engine in and slap it with the lowering stick! hehe.

Blimey, this lad doesn't half hoard Skodas, does he? The latest one's looking pretty cool, so is this one an eventual daily driver or what? Either way, I'd say if you mod it, go for simple, practicality and coolness increasing stuff, bit of engine fettling (to keep up with the modern traffic better, yes. Absolutely nothing to do with blowing away neds and yuppies on quiet backroads roads, not at all! ) and a nice wider set of wheels and decent tyres to hold the road better, maybe decent brake pads and fluid, simple stuff like that and you'll have a good useable car, seeing as you already have the red Rapid for customisng as you say.

I'm not sure really Rev, sort out the engine, and all the other imperfections...give it a really good service, and we'll see from there - maybe a cheaper car to insure is on the horizon

If that happens you'll be overtaking me in the single-marque hoarding contest, at the moment I only have three retro Volvos loitering about in the garden, a 740gl saloon, a 940se 2.3 saloon, and a 960 3 litre limousine, plus the Imp in the garage and the 'Terrible 1.6 Motability Zafira of Doom'tm parked wherever there's space! ;D Not sure where I rank in the single marque hoarding right enough, anyone else want to admit to a single-marque obsession while we're on the subject? ;D I know NickB buys several hundred cars off ebay a month but they're mostly of different marques! ;D
