I bought this off Ben on here, after seeing it for sale for a few months I kind've knew I'd somehow hopefully end up with it, even though I had absolutely no means of buying it! It's a great car, took about 1/4 of an hour to get used to driving it, me and missus were laughing our heads off at how mad it was inside and the noise it was making, and how small it was. Totally enjoyable 50 miles drive home, and then took it out again shortly afterwards. I gave it a wash, hoover and polish this morning: The rear tyre was constantly going flat, so I got the wheel ground and the tyre repaired! The bloke in the van said 'I just saw you on the M53!'. They were also joking about using lifting the car up without the jack! And then went to get some food shopping: One bad thing about the car is lack of storage space, here's the 'boot', and the spare tyre and jack has to go in here: Not sure how poo a roof rack would look, or just even a really small one? Plans for the next week is to wire brush the suspension components and get some black paint on them, and a bit of waxoyl on the arches, clean and respray the wheels and put the carpets/seat covers in the washing machine maybe. I also found a scanned version of the service manual HERE!.

So glad this stayed in the RR fold! I was looking at it racking my brains as to how I could scrape together the cash. The guy in the alley offered me a fair sum for my kidney but in the end I had to decline as I doubted his morals once I was under the anaesthetic. I've wanted a Whizzkid since forever, I'll have one one day! Oh, and I think a roof rack would be a bit poo. Maybe one of those little (VERY little!) boot racks like Fiat X1/9's have? But I'd just leave the whole roofrack thing alone personally! ;D Great car!

How did you manage to park a small car so badly in a big parking space?

Yup, she needs to get herself on t'interweb! Think my colleague snapped her and some friends at the Bromley Pageant. Classic car press might be interested in publishing details of a Whizzkid club too...

Yes it would. It'd be worth starting a forum up if I hadn't already had experience of starting one for a long forgotten marque - ie. 0 users! I'm used to parking big cars, which is why the driver's is against the line! Honest! I got the Suzuki EPC which would be useful I thought: Argh, where is my car?!

I must admit, when it was for sale i was soooo tempted although having no room, or need for the car! I did try to talk my nephew into buying it. I just wanted to look at how cute it was, and love it, and pet it, and.... [/girly mode]
Seriously tho they look so cool and so much fun!
I did giggle at the pick of it on the jack, the jack is almost as big as the car!
Keep up the good work looking' fwd to more updates!

They have more room in the back than my 924. At least it has headroom! Today I continued to tidy it up. The carpets are loosely attached, so took the whole lot out (which took less than a minute!) and got the hoover out. I think I will bung them in my washine machine, or take them to the laundrette for a proper, roomy clean. The fronts: The have intact 'underlay'. I have some proper sound proofing stuff I took from my MR2 which I might swap for. Taking the engine cover off with the engine running leaves the cabin like an oven. Apart from the fumes, it'd be a good idea for winter lol: 987cc in all it's glory! As expected, I DID find some rust. The passenger footwell has some fairly severe corrosion, right through to the wheel arch: It hasn't penetrated the exterior, doesn't look too scary! Driver's side has fared better: Floors are just shy of A1, with minor surface rust: What's to blame? The f*cking Webasto. The passenger side leaked apparently. I've never had a car with a Webasto that didn't leak, how I hate the things! Also found two receipts under the carpet: One from Co-op in October 1996, and the other from December 1995. I had one from the Porsche from 1994 "Ticket machine would not accept coins" dated 1994! Like finding things like this!

How did you manage to park a small car so badly in a big parking space? Ha ha ha!! Seriously you could've parked it there sideways! Cool car, can't believe I'm the first to mention rubbing it with the lowering twig and some snazzy JDM rims

Seriously sweet car, those engines are solid too as long as you keep and eye on the water. Would've been tempted myself but it was too far away at the time. Personally I think it looks better at stock height but each to their own.

Try having a look under "All regions" as opposed to "Europe", you'll have more luck there. If not, you'll need to find a friendly neighbourhood dealer that still has a microfiche and reader. I think the height is fine - it was made before speed bumps and it seriously doesn't like them, or the British crater-ous roads. It's a smooth ride, but it registers every bump! I'd like some different alloys, but think I'll be doing it an injustice modifying it in anyway, seeing as it's lasted this long. Caved in and applied washing machine to all the carpets - they WERE dirty (judging by the black water coming off): All came out really clean, with that just washed smell. Ah! I sprayed the faded wing mirrors and wiper arms black: And gave the badge a crappy silver paint touch up: I got all the soundproofing from my garage and managed to fit it all quite nicely under the floors. I'm hoping it will reduce the amount of noise from the engine and road. Next up is patching those rust holes up, and possibly more mincing about with little farty jobs in the meantime. The heater needs sorting as there is no heat coming through the pipes into the matrix.

Try having a look under "All regions" as opposed to "Europe", you'll have more luck there. If not, you'll need to find a friendly neighbourhood dealer that still has a microfiche and reader. From Pete, currently working at a Suzuki garage with microfiche I'll have another look at that. It's an 'All Regions' EPC, so don't see why it shouldn't have it, seeing as it has Alto's from the same era. It doesn't recognise the VIN number. I'm paying the Suzuki dealer a visit tommorow, so will ask. Also need to find out the paint code for the car!!
