Guys, drop a line to make sure we all got home in good fashion!
We all stayed an extra night at the camping grounds (empty field, RWD cars and a lowrider moped, you do the math ) and left early this morning. The cruise upto Dover was easy enough, the Ferry was a bit more shaky then on Thursday though. Oldbus & family, MrJ and GTVsaviour are spending the night in Belgium, so they will be home tomorrow I guess. But the Dutchies drove on from the ferry.
I put my Jetta back on the drive at 19:30 after a blast through Belgium. When I passed Brussel the roads where pretty much empty and I floored the mighty VW and cruised home at 160-ish. Except for one mistake (driving into Brugge instead of passing it on the motorway, doh!) my trip was easy.
So, just a quick thanks to Oldbus & family for dragging me along on the first leg of the trip and guiding the whole European crew through Belgium, France and the UK. Very nice to meet you all. Same goes for John and the Dutch part of the crew, pleasure meeting you all, I'm sure we'll meet again before RRG10.
To cut things short; I had a blast at my first RRG, and it will deffinatly not be my last. Met some great people, saw awsome cars and talked cars and whole load of other stuff/curse word with great people. Weather was great also and my Jetta didn't miss a beat in 1300 kilometers, a great weekend!
Oh, I don't have any pics of the Sunday-night field action and the whole show for that matter, but I'm sure some will turn up.
