Hi ya Ade, ;D
It was more the stuff in the background to see if Tony / Gordon remembered the scene in 2006, it was about 3 months after I got the HA off you, (my first period of ownership of the car , owned it 4 times in the end)

Paul Yes fond memories indeed, the Viva GT is actually almost finished now, just needs an MOT so pretty sure Gordon will have that down at Billing as well. Look forward to seeing your car Well I can hardly believe I am saying this, but today I have completed all of the welding Had this bit to sort out on one of the front wings, the headlamp mounting panel was gooshed, after drilling out all the spot welds and cleaning it up I had this but had this to replace it and also a repair needed to the bottom where it bolts to the sill so cut that out welded in and cleaned off powerfiled the inside so that it sits nice against the sill Then I needed to repair the wing around the headlamp panel and cleaned off but need to fix this before I can weld the new panel in cut strip as needed bent up and tacked in and welded in and cleaned off, spire fixes spot welded in too Just need a coat of primer on the bare metal bits and thats it done for now What will I do with my weekends and spare time now ?? ;D ;D ;D ;D

Tony I have a feeling I need to ship my GT to you, your work is totally brilliant, I can ofter two vinnies curries a take away breakfast and maybe a few ice creams Paul, after a couple of beers and a few cold nights in the tent at Billing, that will seem very tempting ;D ;D We want to see a BMW making panels thread next! Failing that I have a collection of Fiats you can practise on! MM, yes I think you are right, A BMW making panels thread would be in order, and I love the catchy name

PaulH This is that photo of the little rubber thing that fits in the 2 smaller holes the small pin goes in the small hole and the rubber strip covers the larger hole, it must be to let water out. Thanks - wonderd what it was, as it looked like it was to blame for the rot there!

Fantastic, i go back over every repair you make and i'm stunned you can't see the repair... how.. eh.. what... I'll have a wander over from the manta field at billing for a look at this as it's just too good to be true, a beer coming your way!

best thread on the internet!! thanks so much for taking the time to show us how to make bits and pieces. not many people have the skill you do mixed with the ability to explain the process in terms that most people can understand. i had a brief look at your BMW site, i hope you soon get the enthusiasm together to get your car finished and experience the joy of driving it after all those hours of work. if your ever in New Zealand stop by for a beer. sheepers.

Glad to hear you are going to give it a go, after all, if it doesn't work out you can always buy an arch afterwards
