had another look at that banging from the back and tightened the shocks at the top and that seems to have stopped it or at leased made it less frequent or quieter so that was a good start so I went out in the snow and bought myself some chemical metal to fix the block that the throttle rods pivot on by the carb. sorry for the rubbish pic Then I gave it a quick wash to have a look at the worst of the rust spots and see what needs doing and whats more I was sick of it being so dirty. Heres what I found before the wash I decided that I will start tackeling that tomorrow so I put a gazebo up so I can do it while its raining as iv only got 3 real days before I have to be back at school so I might be going back with a hint of 'rat look' about it. oh and i made a new roller for the throttle lever as the other one has jumped off and run away at some point

White paint always makes it look worse. At least it give you an early warning of things to come. Good luck with the repairs dude

Yeh iv realised the brown one has been sat for two years and I cant see any rust at a glance havent really checked further than that though.
And on that point i have decided to change the outer sills for the ones on the spares car and painted them black (you see what iv done there) started on the wing too but iv got to be careful that i don't run out of time before iv finished it.

A little update it maybe my last for a while as I'm going back to school on sunday, I thought as this deadline was approching that i best look at the passenger door lock mechanism as it keeps trying to expel my friends and girlfriend when going round corners which really doesnt fill them with confidense it my choice of automobile so i changed the whole mech with the one out of the spares car and its all done and shuts with a small push from one finger like they should so with things working out so well i think i will do the drivers door tomorrow to see if it shuts as well as the other. also gave the wing a quick spray just to tide it over untill i can afford a new wing or the time to do it properly, it didnt go too well as it is far too cold to paint really but it will do for now. Also i had a little bit of a play with one of the old sills trying to paint some chequers on pics when i can find the camera. So tomorrow ill do the drivers side lock then drop it down off the ramp pull it out into the daylight and see how it looks. comments and suggestions welcome.

drivers door is done and works perfectly. while I was doing it I decided to put the spare number plate surround on as the old one was rotten at the bottom then dropped it down and pulled it out of the tent to take a few pics and put some fuel in it and this is what I was playing with yesterday on the sill.

Looking good I like the spots behind the grille, something I've thought about for mine aswell except the ones I've got are tiny If it was mine I'd leave the sills white, just works better all white for me

TBH I'm running short on white paint and they now look better than rust brown they are the old spots from my dads car he wasnt using them anymore so i asked and recived, and thats pretty much how this project is funded, hence the wheels, mirrors, lights, and other bits and the rest is off his spares car (just the bits he dosent need).

things have changed a bit, a bit of neglect poor spraying skills and driving it through the winter have taken their toll, the poor car has taken a drive in the rat look direction so i have decided to go with the flow untill i get the time to start again so heres what it looks like now. i also took this as an oppotunity to build a roof race for my a2 d.t project, i have started to get parts ready for its re-vamp i have painted one de-badged fibreglass wing and the front valance. and the s11 bumpers are going on after that I have already coverted it to alternator earlier this week and fitted the v8 3 pot calipers this morning so i have been busy.
