...SEAT ALERT! Those seats look like Mk1 Celica seats. (like the car in my sig). Have they got little silver flip/recline levers about third way up the side? Do not dump them please. Either re-use them and keep them nice or you could definitely sell them. They are in demand. (I don't need them myself) oops sorry mate i lobbed them in the scrap pile as they were rotten beyond repair

Lets clear up car terms: "Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence. "Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

There are still lots of these jeeps around which vouches for the simple but sound design, there is a very active Jago owners Club with some very enthusiastic members - some not very far from you at all and a website with discussion forum. see jagoownersclub1.proboards.com/index.cgi drop in and say hello They attend most of the big kit car shows and have been getting 20 - 50 cars at events - recently celebrated 25 years as a club. Some of the later cars were factory designed chassis for pinto but as has been said x flows , V4, V6, diesels have all been used, some very special cars include Dino and Tigger built by a 4 x 4 fanatic using Suzuki and Discovery gear and Frankengeep built around Merc running gear... the sky is the limit as demonstrated by the V8 jago of Adm Cuthbert which had a Rover V8 but now sports a Chevvy short block pushing out 750 bhp see it at a drag strip soon! We love these cars and have had 18 of them now- still have a x flow and pinto powered car here- easy to work on but the best bit is driving it!! With this specific carr that is being rebuilt it might be worth adding some more metal for side steps and further seat anchors, this will give better side protection and is easier with body off, strut brace betweenthe towers is a useful addition and you might want to alter the angl e of the steering column or fit a D shaped w steering wheel to give a bit of leg clearance. Anyway great job stick with it! atb Mike hello mike ive joined the forum , good site , the side protection is on the cards I'm playing with the mandrel pipe bender at work to get some thing i like , ive already altered the steering rack angle to account for the wheel position and the column from the sierra has adjustable reach and rake too just in case thanks rob

Nice one. thanks again :Dim hoping the power train will suit it ;D it should do, plenty of power for a little fibreglass car anywau about 120-125 in them originally... will have lost a little bit but a good service will have it right again. they work well enough with the autobox too, at least in my previous granadas they did anyway

Nice project!!! I like the colour as well. I'm interested in swapping out the old crossflow in my Jago for a zetec. I see that the Sierra has what looks like a dizzy on the inlet cam. Is there much electronics to swap over with that engine???

I'd rather be driving it.

windscreen top, you are missing the top bar, if you are going to run without the hard top then you will need one and the supports, depending on your roll bar I have both. Roll bar, should be 1 tapped 1/4" hole about 60mm into each bend on the outside. they can be retro drilled and tapped, they take a curved bracket to which the stays for the windscreen fit.
