Used to see these type of bikes at car boot sales for a tenner, sadly those days have gone

Hurrah!! I've got an RSW 2 that I found in a hedge in StEarth many moon ago. I ratted it and fixed it up and now it rocks!! I love the tiny wheels and red band tyres. Ended up spending about £90 quid on it though!

Ive got a couple of 20s. Think Ive got a thread on here about my BSA 20. Have to get round to spraying it. Got a couple of RSWs too.
Theres a few people on Bike Forums that like them. In the folding bike section I post on there as Griftereck. LittlePixels there too.

I've been looking for one for ages too, as said they're no longer car boot fair like years past.

Ooh, I've got a freebie folding shopper I was just going to cut up and make a 'silly' bike out of.
Now I've seen some of those custom Twentys, I'm thinking about building up a pimp commuter ride...

Mine's a folder with bmx rear alloy red oxide, white highlights, no brakes and fixed gear: That looks sweet - I think it started out as the same "Universal" Shopper as the Troll:

I've got one of these half finished. Rattlechanned black, and I've got a set of red BMX rims, plus Nexus 7 speed internal gear hub. Also waiting are a sprung Brooks leather saddle, leather bar grips and a wide set of 70's style cowhorn handlebars. The tricky bit with these is the BB, since Raleigh used a different threading to everyone else, but I've got a solution. What's holding me up is my wheelbuilding skills. The rims, which are deep section and will look cool, were cheap, but I didn't think long enough before clicking buy. They are 48 hole, so I bought a 48 hole BMX hub for the front. Not the easiest build in the world for your first wheel, but easier than the fact that I'm going to have to lace a 36 hole hub into the rear. This will require 3 different spoke lengths, which I've got, but I've struggled so much with the front (had to restart 3 times) that I've not even looked at the back yet. Maybe this winter. It'll also have big fat tyres.
So, finished look - all black, red rims, black spokes, fat tyres, chrome mudguards, wide bars, leather grips and saddle. Sweeet. I'll post here when I make progress.

That sounds great Samwise. Ive built loads of wheels. Fronts are ussualy easier as there not dished to clear a lot of cogs. A hub gear hub usually isnt dished either. You could maybe get an old bike and take out sets of 4 spokes at a time. This will give you the feel of working with spokes. But wont be so confusing that you'll give up. I havent built up unmatched hubs and rims yet. Ive got a few 40 spoke hubs I want to build into 36 hole rims. will have to investigate how easy it is. Ive got lots of spokes striped from wheels. And I have a Spoke threading machine, so can make spokes any size. heres my BSA 20. I cut the headstock down to fit the shorter steerer tube suspension forks. Also narrowed and rettaped the BB to take alloy cranks. Its going to get a pair of gear mechs. So it'll be 6 speed. I want to get better at welding so I can weld canti studs on the chain stays. As the long cable to the sidepull rear brake, isnt a major contribution to road safety. I have an RSW that Ive modded a bit I tried 16" Raleigh Mags on it. Cool but low geared. And the front hubs very close the fork blades. I took the frame and forks to work and retapped the BB and the fork steerer thread. I cut the headstock down a little so I could run a proper ball bearing headset and the stem clamp. I drilled the stem to run the cables through there. Like a BMX does. But don't have cables long enough to reach the rear. I got a couple of kids bikes. Built a pair of 16" alloys on 20 spoke 3 speed hub. I tried to mod this bike. A Raleigh Bianca sort of bike. I used to hate these. There girls bikes with 18" wheels. I cut down the headstock to fit suspension fork. The rear end was widened to fit a 6 speed wheel. But I messed up the BB shell while trying to retap it. So gave up on it. Guess I could get this BB. www.tritoncycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m13b0s110p3339

I've just rescued a BSA 20 from the scrap man, so far I've only got round to new inner tubes and fiting a back brake (original was AWOL). Must get round to doing something with it over the long winter nights.

Here's how I used to roll my original (now stolen) 20. I was in good shape (this was 2 years ago), and used to have a lot of fun hanging off the back of the spandex roadies on the embankment. I could usually keep up for several miles! You can imagine a large man in a suit on one of these.....

I chopped one up last year as I needed a piece of tube the same dia as the downtube to repair an exhaust Still got my Dawes Kingpin folder though and a RSW16 that I'm going to convert to electric power. The "balloon" tyres on the RSW used to be difficult to find but the reintroduced Chopper (which used the same size tyre for the front) means the prices have come down and I managed to get a new pair for £8 - bargain Paul H
