Hi Guys!
I thought it was about time I introduced my new motor! It’s a 1982 MGB GT In a rather fetching shade of Brown!
I bought this to replace my Benz estate that I sold a month or 2 ago
I spotted the car on Autotrader, for a bargain price! lol I'm the 4th owner, and it’s done 37,000 miles from new with a stack of MOT’s to back it up!
The first owner was an MG Dealer who had it sat in showroom for 2 years hence it being registered 1982 and being built in 1980!
The car is a lovely shade of brown with the orange Deck Chair interior, it also has MGB V8 Alloys Fitted!
The car has never been welded, until I got it that is! I had the panels at the bottom of the rear wings replaced as they were a bit scabby!
Since I bought the car I have done the following
• Had the rear wing sections replaced and painted
• Waxoiled the whole underside
• Replaces the points and condenser, and cleaned the carbs to get it running spot on
• Started detailing the engine bay
• Generally cleaned and fettled things up
Plans/Things still to do
• Bleed the Clutch and Brakes to get them 100%
• Fit new discs and pads
• Have the scabby bits on the body sorted, and have the paint blown over so its all the same shade of brown
• Replace the decals
• Have the wheels Blasted and painted
• Paint the engine, finish detailing the bay, buy some shiny bits
• Change the seats for vinyl, change the carpets
Generally I want to carry out a rolling restoration, get it to be 100%
Have some Pics!
The Overdrive even works!!!!
What do you think!
Oh an while I'm here I thought id add some photos of 1 of the old mans cars, since he had it out!
Its a 1977 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, 5.3 liter V8, 4 Webber down draft carbs, ZF "Dog Leg" Gearbox.
He's had it since the early 80's and has been rebuilding it ever since, all he Mechanicals are spot on, its just needs some paint and interior finnishing. This is the mist terrfying drive in the world, 50mph in first anyone? lol
