That may be a shock to some, but I guess there is more to life than F1

Personally I reckon it can only be good news because the sport has lost its edge anyway (IMHO) becoming more like modern football - less about the game, more about the showcase & money. It'll release many, many millions for BMW to go back to what they did best - touring car/saloon car racing. That'll then translate to even better & more interesting cars again (as Dave has already mentioned)
I really hope that's what they do anyway. Imagine a new Batmobile CSL or other bonkers versions of their road cars - WIN!!

sad news if it happens.
still, considering a driver is fighting serious injury at the moment, i guess there are bigger issues than a team pulling out.
I've still got contacts within the F1 world, and i know for sure Massa's injuries are far worse than anyone is letting on. He will be a lucky man if he walks out of that hospital, let alone ever race a car again!

That´s interesting, I was just reading Spiegel.de and they reckon he´ll be back inthe car for Singapur in September... there are lots of differing and conflicting stories at the moment, and i don't know quite how much to believe of any of them. Hopefully he WILL make a speedy recovery. Personally, i don't think he'll ever race again.

It was the big manufacturers taking over F1 that ruined it for me. Much better for teams to have factory support re engines etc but then the rest is down to them.
