Stripped it all down, sanded, and wipped clean.... Painted the whole frame with the £2 / 5 cans of grey Duco, have used 3 cans so far with just over a cans worth of paint getting onto the frame. Guess that justifies the purchase. Followed by white on the front, to just behind where the foot plate will be, the handlebars will be white too, have resprayed them as well. The rear of the frame will be Matt Black to contrast with that red wheel, fading into the white under the foot plate. White over grey,

Well, amazingly, I ended up with a fade.... well, as good as one can get with rattle cans. Tomorrow night may be assembly time, but tonight I finished the paint, and came indoors. Pics as expected All the bits kinda together on the table.

That looks awesome. I better pull my finger out or I'll be the only person walking anywhere at the gathering. Fade looks like it's come out pretty well too

just a thought now that you have this colour scheme which gets the thumbs up from me what about a white front wheel instead of the blue one or possibly red to match the rear one BTW do we get an action shot this evening ;D

Just need to finish making bushes for the rear axle. Then it should be "roadworthy"

I'm surprised how often bikes (or scooters in this case) are built up incorrectly from day one...the amount of bikes with the forks on backwards that I see is nearly as many as the scooters I see with the quick release skewer wound up tight rather than locked with the lever! Asda are advertising 70 quid mountain bikes on tv at the moment, one of the bikes on the advert has the forks on backwards In unrelated news, Grizz this is looking cracking . The fade on the paintjob looks awesome, especially considering it's rattle-canned.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

those asda bikes are awful up close. Squeeze the brake lever and it feels like its going to snap.

I used to work at Halfords. Some of there bikes were terrible. Across the car park was a big Tescoes. They had MTBs for £40. Some people had bought them and then took them to Halfords to get built up. They were horrible bikes. The microshift gears were a dead loss. One person said he got one for £20 as the box was ripped and there was a scratch on the frame.
I like low cost bikes. But bikes that hardly work just put people off.
I built a long wheel base chopper years ago. I went to paint it. But only had some half full tins of spray paint. I painted half the frame red. Then when it was dry. I picked the frame up and painted the other half blue. I had white 5 spoke mag wheels on it. I think it looked good

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!
