...NO comment about FMF being one of the greatest hiphop DJs of all time?
Westwood is a prime knobwand.
He's only good as a fulcrum for less established artists to get exposure.

he deserves massive respect for his hiphop heritage, him on capital fm in the mid 80s was mixtape heaven for me. of course the person on tv and radio is hyped up....its being a very successful image too.....and hes hugely respected in the us too. seen his cars at hot import nights show in the summer....and that impala kicks ass ;D its so easy to knock success in this country I'm with Ed! Along with Morgan Khan, Mike Allen and maybe (in his Radio London days) Dave Pearce, Westwood made Hip Hop accessible to youngsters like me (at the time) who scanned the frequencies looking for this 'new' form of music. I don't really like where Hip Hop has ended up, but knocking Westwood without knowing the full facts is akin to a no-nothing Kiss FM-listening 18 year old teenager claiming that John Peel was 'old and no good at mixing'. Obviously that's an extreme example, and the degree of sacrilege isn't the same but it's still there to a certain extent.

I know this is drifting off-topic... But there is a lot of good hip hop and rap out there... You just have to look a bit harder these days it seems

Ok, my personnal view, but not the gospel truth. I think westwoods "stage persona" makes him sound like a tw@t, as for him being a hip hop pioneer, couldn't care less because I hate it. His taste in cars is mostly awful and only redeemed by the impala, but I get the impression that he's really trying to be black with everything he does. Seems like he needs to learn that you don't have to be an afro american to appreciate hip hop., accept what you are, then you can stop pretending to be something else. Nobber.
Here endeth the rant

PMR is funny more for the interaction between Xibit and WCC than the cars. Theres a program called Rides, which shows a lot of different Hot rodders and customisers in the states. They did a thing on WCC and they came across much better than they do on PMR. The UK version misses the point entirely IMHO the producers just didnt "get" the original Also with a limited budget, choosing charisma probably wasnt the cleverest choice I just think they got it all wrong bringing it over. I cant comment on Westwood and his influence within Hip Hop, because it doesnt interest me. So from that point of view I just see him as a presenter on a show, like a fair proportion of the viewers I would imagine ? In that role he is Appalling, it really is cringeworthy TV, he comes across as a complete Tw*t and someone "You wouldnt tire of Smacking" bit like cheeky chappie Mike Brewer on the only show worse than PMRUK...... "Revved up".... Chavved up more like Its dumbing down the whole modifying scene to appeal to more people..... not usually a good thing These people are obviously good at what they do, to get where they are.... dj and car dealer, but they are trying to present something they seemingly don't "get" For Cars on Telly, you cant beat Rides with the likes of Troy Trepanier, Chip Foose etc Or if you want to see the right way to PMR then "Overhaulin" is a much better program that produces some killer cars ;D

These people are obviously good at what they do, to get where they are.... dj thats what bothers me - he isnt! in fact, he is the worst DJ i have ever heard. In 2002 i was in Switzerland for Snowbombing, which was full of breaks DJ's. For some reason they also had westwood there. His idea of 'mixing' was to play 30 secs of a tune, spin it back and drop in the next tune. It was fcuking aweful!

I'm fighting a losing battle arent i? ;D ;D
