A5 - its on the back seat... screen was broken, replacement obtained but not fitted. I've borrowed your tarp for now
BB the bonnet, bootlid, doorskins, frt wings, much of the roof and the rear q's appear to be alloy. Basically, everywhere it isn't obviously rotten then...
Popup... I dunno. doesn't look like they bothered making it oilproof, but no difference there ;D

Some Lancia Appia shots for some B-pillarless suicide loveliness. Though a little door window-frame simplification like Rovers own P5 'coupe' must be a little tempting too.

Both, probably.... got to have a blower of some sort the other thing that sticks in my head from the retro show is this So I'm thinking, matt dark olive and black, RAF roundel and the designation FT - W on the side, and the name? Maximum Roverboost ;D You can get Lancaster boost gauges and rev counters quite cheap (for what they are) if you know where to look. The boost gauge has a red bezel, and the rpm has dual hands, one for hundreds and one for thousands. www.spitfirespares.comThese guys usually have some. Regards Ric

If you're going for the bomber look how about a couple of alloy bars machined and drilled to llok like machine gun barrels poking out of the grille?

I'm loving the chopped-sectioned look. V. sexy.
I used to know a chap with a P4 fitted with a BMW 6-pot and associated running gear from one of the 525E models - ie the ones that are quick but also don't cost the earth to run. It went like greased weasel pooh of a teflon coated shovel - and sounded wonderful thanks to that BMW 6-pot howl.

Had a fiddle with it again today. Found an ignition key, found the battery (after looking in the engine bay, and the boot ) Under the back seat!. Still positive earthed. Put a battery on it, cranked it briefly to check for a spark (nice fat blue one... lovely) topped up the rad then went to check the state of the fuel lines and pump. I know, it looks like one of my coffee cups...decided not to trust the tank, and rigged up a quick feed from a lucosade bottle (well, what else? lol) to the pump, and went and turned the key. about half a minute later, I remembered to pull the choke (actually an enrich type cold start) and it burst into life ;D Far as I can tell, the car has been dormant since 1981. The guy I got it from didn't start it as he didn't have a key (and nothing was disturbed engine wise 'til I started fiddling with it today) Not everything is that easy though.. does anyone know how the screen goes in? autofive and I tried all ways to get it to go in (or even look like it was going to) before giving up and gaffa taping it in instead. Original radio? Says "His Masters Voice" but he must have a sore throat today, cos nothing happens. Nice dash though. Chrome bumper, slightly pitted. may polish up Went round the body with a magnet too. doors, bootlid and bonnet are ally,. rest is steel, rust or bodyfiller. Front wings unbolt complete with their inners (rather like another 50's pressed steel company body I could mention..) Chassis so far looks promising - I haven't found any holes, yet.. It's also got 3 crossplies and one radial - and the radial is on the front! Tsk... don't people ever watch public safety films?

Survived? It's been dead at the back of someone's garage for 3 decades! But, if you insist... I could chop up a transit instead?

Bombproof engines, easy to work on and bits are soooooooooo cheap it's ridiculous! If you wanted diesel a 200tdi engine should slot straight in there. Make a return to the tank, bodge up throttle cable, new exhaust and jobs a goodun.

Anyone see where I'm headed? ;D ;D I've seen a picture of this before, looks brilliant! Build this, then you can get fed up of it and I can buy it! ;D

Ooooh, new toy for SOC! 'Citing! ;D
I say hack it about, A) Because you're great at that and B) anything you do to it will be better than what its fate would have been.
One thing though, never change, nor repair that grille!
