Bought a rover p4 (80) yesterday - not collected it yet but it is mine (mwahahahaha) not this one, obviously.... I didn't have a camera with me OTR since 1981 (but on the computer) chassis is solid, lower bodywork is frilly... Engine is the same 2 1/4 petrol as a series landrover, so swapping/converting should be easy and well documented (I found this already ;D ) AND I cant get this out of my mind either... Cos thats a p4 underneath, but I fancy the sallon body complete with rear scuicide doors that close to the ground.... Anyone see where I'm headed? ;D ;D

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Are you going to cut the middle out of it, the rear third of the front door, and the front third of the back door, weld it all together and make a suiside doored hot rod coupe.
Please.

Might the wheelbase/track be similar to a typically minitrucked chassis? Keep original truck chassis, axles (not suspension ), engine/box etc and you should be alright as a re-body in DVLA points terms I think.

RW - This sort of thing, but lower and on banded steels and lopro rubber? mmm. Seth - hopefully I don't need to change the chassis - looks pretty solid! Plus the rover has a really nice reg haha, could always bodyswap both vehicles, put the minitruck on the rover and vice versa... robin - Yes, it is..... Mark - Whatever happens, the doors need to stay ;D like the idea of losing the pillar and bringing the rear forward, so it ends up with double doors like a New mini clubman or a RX-8..;D

Nice buy Scary. I love the look of the Jet cars and reckon a 2-doored coupe version would rock the Rover world and if anyone could pull it off,you could. ;D

HW - make it a nice flat bypass with no speedbumps please ;D Anglia 68 - jet 1 is a good look I love that car. My folks took me to the science museum when I was about 10 - they lost me for 3 hours and had to search the building. Guess where I was? lol.... Kee - unless I get my flux capacitor back, its gonna be a year and four weeks ;D
