Well, with the right needle and careful pedal work, that machine should sew leather, so you could make some very classy upholstery if you tried.
You would need to use a much thicker needle, change the throate plate and feed for it to sew leather, the brother db2 is probably the lightest "industrial" sewing machine you could get, more suited to a wedding dress than an old boot.......lol,
