i made a lamp pod for the ghia, as its coming winter time, and i'll be doing some night rallys. checked the fit today, and painted it i think it looks pretty good   |

I did some racing yesterday, I did ok, apart from the last run where the drivers door swung open, hitting a cone, and putting a big dent in it, and ripped the top hinge off  i had to drive home holding the door shut heres a few pics that my girlfriend took, she aint tooo good at cameras, but they are ok I suppose lol     |

bit of an update, the handbrake I made is slippy, as its just painted with no grip.... so I went to JJB and bought some tennis bat grip tape...    matches the jazz bucket seat cover also managed to get my autogauge tacho fixed, so it went back in the car  |

Hello again, this week I have mainly been doing an engine conversion on my ghia.... its getting a 2.0L 8v injection motor from a B3 passat. i'm designing the adaptor plate myself, and using a t25 diesel 215mm flywheel, 4 puck clutch, and the t25 pressure plate. Ive had to clearance the gearbox to fit the flywheel, and also move the starter by 2.5mm. the old engine.......  new engine    I put a socket on the passat gearbox then I could centre the template for marking the holes.   template cut out and holes being drilled on the passat gearbox..  then same on the ghia box...  all holes done yey  Today I took the template to my local machine shop, and they said they will be able to make it in 20mm ally, no problem, so i'll just have to wait for the phone call for when its done Yesterday I started making the mount for the radiator, which is in the rear right wing. I cut out the battery tray to make some more room for the rad. I forgot to take pics of that tho.. and ive also ordered a duct from demon tweeks... (this one www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ProductDetail.asp?cls=MSPORT&pcode=MSD7030 ) which will be cut into the wing. |

sorry for lack of update, i forgot to post on here.  the adaptor plate,  starter motor mount  new fuel tank  manifold, i made from the passat item and MGBGT downpipes  carbon fibre backbox that was off my old corsa hillclimb car  engine mount.  engine in! just gotta finish off the plumbing, and electric, and i need an inline fuel pump. |

nice project and a decent power upgrade last B3 I had managed 235,000 miles untouched, have you strengthend the box and diff internals as you will be putting a serious shockload throught it in competition use.

cheers the box is totally stock, when i blow up a box it just gets replaced with another one, cheaper than buying a built box the B3 engine is 115bhp as standard, so thats plenty for now, seeing as tho the car weighs 700kg. its done 90k, and had a decent service history (it was my dad's old car) the only reason why he didnt want it was because he got another B3 with 45k on the clock and full service history for £450 the old motor was a home built 1600, ported and polished heads, matched manifolds, twin 40 solex, dunno what the bhp was, but guessing about 50. |

no sorry i don't have any pics of the adaptor plate off the engine, all i've done is add an engine mount to take the extra weight, done nothing to the suspension yet, just gonna see how it handles first |
