great write up Speedbird I will be following progress on the website did MrS sort out the headgasket? He put some magic fluid in - and was nice to me .. I think he figured I had other things to worry about ... but I feel really bad ... as far as I knew the Sierra was fine ... otherwise I would have given him the Volvo for the ride home ... it's a bit crappy looking but it works reliably!

Frank, if I am still here next Friday, I have passport, I have visas, I have kit, ..... can I stow away with you in the Imp? Judging by the spares list he's posted on the Imp Club forum there may just be room for you on the rear bumper.

Speedbird, Great to read the story of how the last couple of days have worked out. A pity I had to bow out yesterday PM. Glad the boys are en route and hope you recover to catch up with them

I do hope so, he's in me hippy bus! The sierra was deemed to be not well enough to go..... It' sat up at the allotments with two empty K seal bottles on the front seat to keep the joy riders away! LOL. BTW scary and family stayed with us friday night, in the van and the amby! I couldn't see em search for a hotel after that epic day.....

cheers for that Fred.... what's gonna happen to the Sierra ? And is K seal K cider?
I bet they are having loads of fun in the 'bus ... when do you reckon you will see it again?
Norm has got a couple of tech questions for Scary - but he deserves a break and a bit of a rest for now!

Scary said he will be back in a week, going home first. I am going to hold on to the sierra for him. K seal is the stuff to help the head gasket. It was still p1ssing water though, so not sure how much damage has been done. I don't even have a number for him! LOL! Here's the hippy bus.... Spike (Mrs Scary) was in lurve!

Clarkson talking about the new Ford Focus RS "maximum fun, maximum practicality, minimum cost" but he could have been talking about my Capri - and his was lime green! - I am a bit fed up of Clarkson nicking my ideas... I was saying "how hard can it be?" years before he was!!!! but anyway, my lary, scary Capri is on it's way to Mongolia, if you haven't already sponsored us www.justgiving.com/capri2mongolia_andback

Hey all - I'm home.... Speedbird Andy, don't worry mate. It all worked out in the end! Fred - Hippy bus from Hell is fine ;D Actually quite enjoyed it! PS.. what's a phone? lol. I haz pics and will be doing a full report on my long weekend away. First though I REALLY need a bath. Here are a few tasters.... TB gets taken away from the ace in the back of a van by the Classic Car Police Stormin' Norman Murdoch ready for the off... PS his Oddball impression is spookily good ;o Seems I'm not the only one to spend months rebuilding a wrecked capri for a good cause. I gave them a TB sticker ;D Bathtime! I'm smelling like I spent 3 weeks living in a tree

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in
