Do you know if all the 2 door E36's share the same seats? I have some fitted to my Vito leather versions and the drivers one is rather worn so was looking at replacing but leather seats on a BMW seem to command good money. On the pic up note after I saw this I was looking all over for one love it, so please don't make one like this and urge my want further as I only recently bought the Vito van instead lol

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

I think they do, as I know people put Vader M3 seats in compacts. Will warn you in advance though, they weigh in about 28kg the sports seats so watch your back. Sorry, thats kind of what I'm wanting to build, if you want an L200/Hilux your going to have to be quick as they are all getting exported to Africa atm. I had to pay what I consider to much to get a 2wd Hilux. Couple of years ago the one I bought would have been about £800, try finding one for sensible money! Sell that Vito and get minitrucking

Have you thought about decambering them yourself? A few threads on here about a "tool" made out of a bottle jack to just press the springs a bit flatter Johnny69 and Dez have both tackled it. Looks pretty straightforward and it'll only cost a tenner for a cheap jack and a bit of scrap steel.

I did think about it, but I lack ability to weld, I'm also scared of being hit in the face by an angry leaf spring lol Would only need the scrap steel as the Hilux jack is an hydraulic bottle jack from the factory!
I do like the idea of getting a pair of new springs to just swap over, but then I would also feel like I was cheating a bit. Suppose I could always sell the old ones for good money.
First thing on the to do list is buy rims as soon as the BMW is gone, then can figure out how low it needs to go and how much bodywork needs doing.

I'm a big hilux fan too, but am fed up with the prices of them at the mo, get it up on hpoc.co.uk too if you havent already, lots of love there for the 4x4's and hardly any 2wd
i'd love to get a proper mini truck project underway, but prices for me are far too rich.. they are even dafter than the Mk1 Goof caddy..
Be good to see which way you go with this tho..

Just picked up my new resistor, will have a bash at fitting it in the morning - hopefully that will make my blowers work. Also just picked up a TRD steering wheel and boss from an MR2, apparently the boss should fit lol. Have my mint 90's raid woodrim steering to fit if the boss is ok. Trying to source some new interior bit's but more on that later. Prices are stupid for the 2wd's, not going to go down either while the demand is there for export.

Take the rear leaves for a trip to Midland Motor Springs in Nottingham, they've decambered a few sets for me, I recall it being 20 quid a spring...
My L200 just has the second from bottom leaf removed and 2" blocks mind.. It rides a million times better for it!

I'm looking for a similar truck atm, I know what you mean about the prices. Even trucks without MOTs can go for over a grand. Good luck with yours though, I'll be keeping an eye on it

I spoke to a guy selling them to exporters and they are paying upto £1800 for them regardless of condition as long as it's running. If you see one you like, buy it as chances are it will get exported if you don't buy it. Hopefully I wont disapoint anyone when this thing get's done lol.

First update.
I now have working heaters, thought it was a failed resistor - replaced that and still nothing but now had a clicking noise. So pulled the relay & fan out of the truck and got stuck in with the multimeter, 30 minutes later and after a bit of bodging the relay the blowers are working. Going to order a new relay later.
Next plan is attack the dirt inside the cab & clear the drain hols in the bed as I keep getting a swiming pool in the back lol.

2nd update. BMW is sold, so have rims money Have orderd a steam cleaner from ebay, only small cheapo job so will see how I get on cleaning the interior and engine bay. While looking at the crud in the rear bed I spotted somthing that concerned me slightly: After a quick google was releaved to find that it's a used Winchester 22 round. Suppose thats what you get when you buy something owned by a farm since new lol. Glad I didnt get stopped while that was rolling arround in the back!

Thats definetly not used the lead head would be separated from the shell .22 is often used in abattoir guns basically a stick with a .22 round inserted into it and placed at the base of the animals skull for a quick and effective kill whether its humane or not I'm not sure but it is still extensively used, that is the probable origin

Have a word with GME Springs on the Dorehouse/Orgreave industrial estate, where the old Asda used to be in Handsworth, about springs. Just up the road from my workshop and seem a good bunch of chaps.
