Hi All
i recently had to paint my bonnet and decided to do it satin black i used wilinsons gate paint in satin rollered on then used a satin black srapy can to dust over the top for a final finished.
this looked good but the rest of the car is peeling so i need to paint it.
i am thinking of doing this process again as the roller enables large coverage and the cans just finish it off nicely.
where can i buy this paint in either satin white or satin blue (a mdeium shade)
cheers in advanced and any pics would be great
Cheers
BEn

Possible dumb question, but can you thin the Cellulose down and roller it? I don't have spray facilities.

Your opinion is invalid, I've seen your wife.

Yep - but it should be OK to roller straight from the tin. I wouldn't recommend thinning more than 10% if you do decide to thin it down.

how many coats did you have to put on?
when i did my bonnet in black it took three coats and the the roller left funny lines so i had to blow over with rattle cans
really fancy doing mine but i am torn between matt white or the matt blue. the car is already blue so may be better

Cheap rollers cause lines as the tip isn't supported, and it took two coat which i did about a week apart. Need to use decent gloss rollers (foam) with a center support stanley make some good ones, basically if the end bends up you don't want to use it Why not go two tone matt white and blue, post up pics on flatties when your done

I Satin Black'd my whole car using just 6 trade size aerosol cans of Satin Black, finish is very good and only cost me £22 for 6 cans..... Aerosol cans could be an option? i did mine on my driveway in pretty curse word windy conditions and it went on fine...

Mine was done on the drive on a cold windy day using a spray gun, which sadly spat water on various occasions...

Bit of a thread bumpage...
I want to satin paint a car with rollers, do you have to thin the paint before doing this or can you do it straight off? Also approx how much paint will do a car? Apart from ebay are there any other dealers of satin paint?
Thanks.
