Got a phone call the other day from a ex of about 13 years ago , goes something like this , remember the allegro you let me keep when we split up well its just failed the mot on a bit of welding , bloke at mot said its just 2 patches and nothing major , as i've just bought a new car do you want the allegro , its still got a weeks mot on it and is taxed till october , Oh and by the way theres a mk1 fiesta here that belongs to *****'s dad but he is giving up driving so wants to get rid of it , if you want it you can take it away , its still got mot and tax on it , don't want nothing for them . I knew there was a reason that i kept in touch with her

13 years ago! Amazed to see it's still on the road to be honest, I don't know a single woman who'd even consider an aggro as a daily!

Well went to pick one of them up today and got the aggro , 60 miles home and it drove faultlessly (well it was me that built it ) seemed strange to be driving it again after all this time , Its got few bits on the body that needs attention but considering its not been look after for 13 years its not that bad . Inside is a mess as I knew it would be , she's got 2 big dogs and the back seat is missing so the dogs could get in , front seats have seen better days , amazingly its still got the same radio/cassette , same keyring and even the shark hanging from the mirror is still there , spotlights still work and its only got 77k on the clock . The fiesta however turned out not to be as good , its not a mk1 but a mk2 that has definately seen better days , body is rough and it smokes worse than I do , TBO I don't think its worth the 120 mile round trip to get it so I phoned the local scrappy for her and they are picking it up tomorrow , have a pic of the new agg .

Great result as you say, and from the pics it doesn't look too bad at all.
What are your plans for it, drive as is, or some tweeks?

My ex's either want me dead, are now lesbian, or both! One even printed in an article in the University of Ulster alumni magazine that I put her off men for life. Mind you, one of them did have an Allegro estate.

Got a few plans floating about in my head , there was a thread on here a while back that had a slammed white aggro in it , looked awesome so thats one possibility , the other one is a 19TD engine from the citreon , going to have a measure up tomorrow and see whats involved , nothing going to happen for a while as I got the golf in the workshop being painted , The avenger as been pushed to the back and needs finishing and the other allegro needs finishing , that all comes second to the customers cars as well , The aggro behind it is sitting on a lwb vitara chassis and has a rover V8 ready to go in . Kev .... might have guessed it would be you that spied the willy's its on a full tube space frame , narrowed rear end and has all the brightwork with it , car has never been built , collected it from Scotland last year , could be up for sale depending on the result of a 65 chevelle drag car . As for the roadtrip mate you're more than welcome , kettles always on and theres a comfy sofa at home if you need to crash for the night . Dclane ... Most of mine are like that but this ones ok , don't spose she's still got the agg estate One last thing , she's also got a 2 door 73 Austin 1300 that she uses , MOT and free tax that could possibly be coming my way in a few months when the MOT runs out , maybe i should have stayed with her
