Mmm, like the banded steel idea, its so subtle that most folks won't even notice them , especially if you run it with the standard trims and rings. However, I can't read the thread in the link, you must be logged in Post the pics if there is some

ahh re-rimming the anglia rims with 5.5j escort steels you mean? are you sure they will be wide enough for the back as angilas like that normaly need huge rims on the back as the geometry is a bit strange.

Not at all sure Mate, however, will go for what is sensible, ultimately , getting the little sidevalve to drag 7J rims and tyres on a daily driver is not my intention. So 5.5J it will have to be, unless I find something a bit bigger.

5.5J will be fine on the back, if you're making them you can ajust the offset to suit anyway.

didnt realise 100e was different to the usual 4x108?
they aren't that much are they, theres been some on ebay recently banded out to 9" lol. but banding or re-rimming may cost as much as buying them.

I knew someone who did this on their 100E.The fronts ended up as 5.5 and the rears were 7". He used an old set of Weller 8-spokes for the rims and 105E centers.Looked ace with '48 Ford hubcaps.

I had 7 J's on the back of mine, unmodified arches and they were a right squeeze and rubbed the outer arch like hell. I'd stick to 6J maximum and 5.5J will look plenty tough, especially if it's lowered 2". Don't forget to use narrow lowering blocks

Now need to find the cheapest Mexico steels in 5.5J or Capri Laser wheels.
Then get the lot together.... sorted.

My Golf Cab has Reversed front wheels, Re-rimmed rears... Its the red one you photographed at the Volksworld show... It isnt as easy as it sounds.... Takes a while to cut them apart and you realy need a jig to re-weld them, so you can spin them to make sure they are true and also so you get them the same depth. I did a how to last year, but I don't know how to retreive it...

Thanks Flannel.
The easiest way to find your own threads..... Go to the top of the page in the section you posted, click on the heading of the "Thread started by" box, and it will arange it alphabetically..... Keep in mind some people change names, etc.... but the original registered name will still be there behind the scenes.
It is a bit tedious, but it is the way I find old threads, and works.

Just dragged this thread back to the front, been thinking about a need for some 5 x 108 16" steels in my life - Mondeos have them but to suit the application(RWD) I think it'll be necessary to reverse the centres(plus that's something else I fancy in a 15" application for something else ) to get the offsets I'm looking for Anybody know of anyone who can/does this? Many thanks!
