I'm in two minds really. I happen to think they are ridiculously pointless (supposed to prevent stonechips etc) but never seen one on a rep/commuter's car? only on modified VWs. I think they can only really suit a black car, but prove me wrong. I hate this. I want to like this have some more discuss

I would personally rather see a bit of gravel rash on the front end because I think cars could be used. However, if I'd spent thousands on my paint I might think differently.

I rate them, but the appeal can be dilluted by cars that haven't been that well executed elsewhere, whether it be wheels, stance, colour or even the original design from the factory. For example, I rate that blue Mk4 at the top with the full bra, but for some reason, I don't think the Corsa suits having one...
But that's just my opinion.

My Porsche 911 came with one of these. I still have it in the garage, the new owner didn't want it and now i cant get shot of it for love (not that you'd want my love) nor money.

Personally think they look daft. I can understand if people want to use them though if they have really good front-end paintwork. But, that said I should think it would be best not to use them on a car that wasn't garaged; I suspect they would trap moisture something chronic!

On the saxo and the black Goof - epic win. The rest look a bit silly imo. It's another case of 'depends on the car and the circumstances' really, as with everything. They can look really good on the right car in the right circumstances: but also really dire on the same car in the wrong circumstances:

I saw one of theses ^^ the other day and thought it looked gash, same as the beetle really, there is that whole expanse of bumper/grille so whats the point in a bonnet bra, you'll end up with a manky front end and a lovely shiny bonnet. The blue golf works but its a bit over kill, but I agree with the some cars look good some don't theme.

Agreed, the above bra on that yellow GTi looks cack. With regards to moisture, I think manufacturers only recommend leaving them on for a few days at a time...
It's one of those aftermarket things that get done to death, but there's still appeal on the right car.

Never understood them, even in their proper usage. I'd rather have to touch up a couple of stonechips than have what looks like an enormous bin bag on the car.

It's like those people who leave the protective plastic covering on their new sofa for the first year. You bought it to use it, stop deliberately inconveniencing yourself!

They make the car look worse than it would with stonechips, therefore they're GASH.
The worst ones are the ones with the little sticky up bits. Ultimate fail.

i wish someone had put one on my civic when it was new! pmsl
Then again from the state of it, I'd have a mint bonnet and chipped to chocolate bumper instead!
I saw one on a motorhome in Florida! It was like a big 14 ton ninja!

no no no no no
What is the point? It covers up the car and ruins the look, what is the point of having nice paint if you ruin it with a silly bra.
