the tvr maniflods are a bit "chunky" tho aint they , i found i got most clearance (with stock manifolds) was with using p5b jobbies, plus they can of course be swapped over to face forwards mind you, i don't know how hard they are to find these days, it was 15 or so years ago i last messed around with an rv8, back then p5/6 bits were everywhere so short w/pumps and pulleys were dead easy and cheap to find

The solution is obviously to build a pair of Saab 900 style log manifolds, stick a turbo on the end of each one, then route the exhaust down from there.
Don't volvo turbo manifolds come forward too? Covers improving the performance too.

Why not stick to a Volvo engine and get a V8 from the Volvo S80 V8

My mates got a 460 in a Amazon, but its now built on a tube chassis. I have to agree with the SBF being the smallest of the readily available V8s, Rovers are a funny shape and seem to fit where they touch

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

Ah b'lieve they can run either way, but if running a pair you'd have one of each to cancel torque reaction? Think those Ovlov marine motors cost shedloads too. Yes, but they do that in the gearbox. Some marine engines run backwards, but not many (and they're mostly diesels based on industrial units anyway). But yes, Volvo Penta engines don't come cheap.

When i was on holiday on the Norfolk broads and the BMC diesel engine in our boat died the tow boat that came out had twin Volvo diesels in it, 'cos i showed an interest the guy showed off a bit, we got up to 25 knots with the 45ft holiday boat on the back across oulton broad. sounded lurvely.

Popup, you didn't get your 45' holiday boat from Martham Boats did you? It's the only boat yard I can think of that still has BMC diesels.
Sorry for the OT...
