I was after a mk1 Caddy as a daily, but this came up instead. If I find a good caddy at the right price i'll have it, but I am loving the rocco a lot at the moment So far I have swapped the hideous tinted front indicators and side repeaters back to orange ones, and I have the inner high beams to go on too, once i've got the adjusters. Anyway, here it is. An 89 Scirocco Scala 1.8i (mk1 gti engine). Its got koni top adjustabes on it, which are so easy to fine tune its unreal. Oh and some new number plates, to get rid of the cheesy ones with the VW logo on. Jim

I prefer it without the high beams, but not to the extent that I could be arsed to remove them if it was mine. Looks nice.

Nice 'Rocco! I like the front without the high beams, but it still looks great with them.

Nice Rocco - I've had an F-reg Helios Scala 'i' myself Much under-rated cars. I am after a set of the inner light blanking pieces (for my '82 Rocco GTI track car) if you do stick with the current setup, and feel like selling. May I also suggest a visit to us over at www.sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk/

it looks more like a maestro if you leave the inners off. which is why i prefer it that way, but i suspect you mightn't...!

Looks like a really tidy example. I much prefer em with the inner lights removed, my old '82 CL had the factory blanking grills where the inner high beams should have been: Unfortunately after I sold it the new owner decided to bury the front of it in a honda civic

Nice car, but I'm gonna go with the "without the inner high beams" as well Mind you looks good regardless, good find, and these don't seem to be too affected by the old scene tax (unlike a Caddy!) which can only be a good thing!

Looked awesome yesterday at Dubs at the Park. A good buy that one mate. Hopefully if you find a Caddy we can take it off you for Lizzie.

Nice buy! Always liked scirocco's. Looks better/cleaner without the extra lights though

Nice 'rocco! Looks great, and I love the colour.
Personally I like the extra lights, too.

With a bocephus sticker on his 442, he'd light 'em up just for fun

Looks like a good buy to me As for the lights I vote without the high beams, much cleaner and more retro

How about stick the inner high beams behind the covers, Charger esq look? That sounds like the best idea so far, though probably quite a bit of work.. not so bad if you can weld though (which I can't).

O/T ish but maybe worth mentioning:
I was in MK Auto Recycling in New Bradwell, Milton Keynes on Sat, they've got a Scirocco in there complete but dented, currently breaking for spares - didn't see what model (watercooled VW = not my thing) but I did notice it had the inner high beams, not sure if that is significant!
If you're after anything then be quick as the cars never hang about long in there.
