they are indeed wheel trims as found on mk4s and beetles, the steels underneath would probably look nicer! As for the Orciari grill, I'm not a fan, its a look best left for the dodge charger ! and as you say Darren, unbelieveably rare - only ever seen 1 for sale, and that was up for 1500 euros on ebay!!! :0 and just for good measure... cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=68211&item=7981000405&rd=1

Wow! I always wondered how they worked - if they went up to just under the bonnet somehow, or sideways behind the grille. Now I know

and now you know, doesnt it seem a little expensive for a few leccy window motors and some runners ? or is that just me?
any pics of the leopard printed mk2? i love the detailing all over this car, and the engine bay is beautiful

Mk2 Golfs: i love 'em, but as a car i can afford to own right now. i love looking at ones for sale, mostly stockish GTIs, and working out how to get the few hundred quid i'd need after a rocco sale. like nick, i think i have reached saturation point on the euro'd ones, they just don't make my yoghurt fly any more.
the stradas - wow! my mum nearly bought one of those years ago, ironically went VW instead (mk2 polo c breadvan). they're cool because they're different and rare - everything a euro golf isn't
if it has to be a VW, and has to be euro, then be different - a Santana perhaps?

Everyone keeps saying 'EURO' styling ...what does this mean? Sorry for being ignorant/unknowledgable

euro: smallish wide rims with stretched tyres. typical rims are ATS Classics and Ronal Turbos, with polished p-slots also featuring heavily. More often than not the wheels are highly polished. bodywork has brightwork removed and is a solid colour, or combinations of colours, rather than fancy paint effects. subtle mods such as half-clear lights, a very slight 'bad-boy' bonnet can feature but bolt-on bits are definately out. engine must be insanely clean and as shiny as possible. doesn't have to be insane but engine transplants are popular, eg VW 1.8T into mk1 golf. for good examples, visit www.cleaned.be

i must say i love my euro ish mk2 golf, as a daily driver there superb and so easy to mod its unreal ,but even I'm reaching saturation point with ronals ats cups and bbs rims and such like. the problem with mk2s is the same as beetles and minis, one look works so well but most others look a bit pants so the euro look gets done to death. i thought id go for oem look as its called these days, which i think means picking the choice bits from the vag range and applying them to the car. ive got vw and porsche bits on mine. I'm trying to not go down the gti route at all if poss and stick to tuning the 16 carb motor just to be different. but its still a bit dull compared to the sigma new wheels going on hopefully by the end of the week hopefully some -80mm front springs too. thinking about de arching it too, what u think. and no I'm not putting a single lamp grille on it! also does anyone know if the 1800gti head will fit straight onto the later 1.6 block? as i think the gti s cam will work better with the 40dcoe that ive got coming

Your right, theres definately a saturation point. I think its just the size that the scene has got to, and the amount of add-on-bits venors all selling similar gear. Sorta makes me happy I'm driving something a little less 'popular' in the dub scene!
And as for the OEM look, well some people would call using porsche and audi bits OEM+ But i guess thats just personal opinion!
80mm is very low on a mk2, i hope youve got some shortened pistons to match! Just out of interest, what porsche bits have you got? Is this impending wheelage...

it is indeed , nothing too exiting tho, got me a set of 5 porsche 924 turbo rims and some nice 195 45 15s to stretch over em. still a bit dull but they go with the steering wheel have got a 924 aux instrument cluster ive got to figure out how to fit. also this weekend i finally found some rev counter clocks to fit the early two plug dash, didnt realise there 160mph versions till i fitted them cos i got all exited about having a rev counter at last! oh steb so uknow of any 4 branch exhaust manifolds for sale anywhere?
