different wheels for different looks just need to modify the front wings as i'm running loads of caster so the wheels stick forward a bit the wing will need to be flattened ,then trimmed then the lip bent back into shape so it shouldn't look like its just been cut out with a hacksaw. and no i wont be having 01 on the side and a Confederate flag on the roof ;D

hmmm. first time around Brands Hatch and it rained . didn't have the best tyres for a wet track day and not knowing the circuit didn't make for confident driving. still i got the car home in one piece, allbeit slightly wet Wet Brands track day

dug the old girl out of the garage today. first time for over a month. started on the button . the mot is now due and looking at the mileage iv'e done less than 900 miles in a year. had the turbo vecs profesionally refurbished so thay look loads better. i forgot how well the old 120y drives. the Mazda 5 speed gearbox has a superb gear change with quite close gears in all five so it does have quite a sporty feel. engine still pulls well even with very light throttle so it's effortless to gain speed. iv'e a few winter jobs planned after the last track day of the year. hopefully i can get some decent video footage of a dry track

still got to modify the front arches yet. plans for the winter are to rebuild the steering with new ball joints (probably doesn't need it but everything else is done), remove the front cross member to repaint and remove the engine to bling up a bit and to remake the exhaust manifold. next weekend though i'm flying down to Portimao to look after a couple of race cars apparently they have a swimming pool in the paddock. it's a hard life being a mechanic ;D

so iv'e not done anything to it over the winter i've now modified the front arches to clear the bigger tyres on the Turbovecs (still to be fitted) and sourced some 9inch brakes to rebuild to replace the 8inch brakes presently fitted for the 9inch Ford brakes iv'e been looking for some Lotus Cortina drums because they look more like the original Datsun drums. i managed to find some very good 1600E drums which look the same as the Lotus ones. should discuise it a little the fact it's a Ford axle in a Datsun. ;D

Must have been asleep as not seen this thread before. The car is Epic, even better, your work is inspiring. I wish I had the skills do what you do. The TurboVecs give it a little look of a compact, J-Tin General Lee - in a good way. Nice to hear that Corbeau did some special work for you. I got them to provide me some special vinyl so I could make door cards and T-tunnel in material to match their seats, nice company to deal with. It would be great to see the car out and about in 2011. Keep us posted mate.

It has made my day seeing this car on here! I'm sure I saw this car for sale a few years back, standard even down to the original wheels. Absolutely loved it then, love it even more now, those turbovecs are ace! God I wish I'd had the money to buy it back then!
