The v8 is tuned, but I didnt inquire to what extent Its a daily driver too You missed that then? Cool car. looking at the car I being an early one it would have been a carbed car so I would say going by the look of it and I may be totally wrong but I would say at best possibly a carb swap for a 390 Holley and maybe a hurricane cam as that would be the pretty standard stuff you do with a rover to give a little bit more grunt but going by rat car trends more likely to be back box removed and replaced with lump of pipe with a kick up for that rover v8 rumble

hey i'm not slating the car at all its not the kinda look I would want in any car of mine as I don't get that kind of look unless its done for a reason like being a sleeper but each to their own. just saying if its been given the title of Bad Ass SD1 it needs something to back up the somewhat neglected look it has but I doubt it has much to do that with. I would love to proved wrong. just posting a rolled eyes smiley at any post you don't like is a little childish don't you think

I've always liked these cars, but this one just looks like an old clapped out shed if i'm honest.

I'm not exactly known for my love of the RV8. Actually, I've slated it quite often. But yes, I agree, I hope it is at least properly tuned. Does look good though.

I've always liked these cars, but this one just looks like an old clapped out shed if i'm honest. I love SD1's, and drive one everyday, so I'm a little biased. But can I just say this. You might drive nice shiny cars, but that "clapped out shed" might be the best some guy can afford, and at least he's keeping one running. We should be applauding the fact he's keeping it going, not slating him because it has a few dents. I didn't think Retro rides was like that. I'm sure there is a thing on here saying if you can't think of something nice to say about someones car, don't say anything?

Sorry to drag up an old thread...but can anyone tell me what wheels this is wearing, and where I might get some from. I NEED those in my life! Looks possibly like Cragar Modular rims, although there are plenty of similar wheels available in 5x5 pcd. Northants TyresAwesome stuff, thanks!

that is badass looking, a perfect example of the rough and ready, "badass awesome" look that I LOVE
if I could have an SD1 looking like that, or with a new shiny paint job and no marks, I would choose the one in this thread it looks seriously mean, normally I don't even like SD1s the restored nicely painted ones don't look badass at all but that thing has fearitude
don't know wtf people are talking about the "look" being "done for a reason" it looks like an original car, he didnt do anything to the body to make it have that "look", it has that look because its been on the road for 30 years and thats the best thing about it, its being used and not all polished up hidden in a garage under a cover!
also, you may prefer the restored look but I think you all have to agree that seeing anything of this age and rarity on the road is great!
and it may not need TLC, some people put their money into the engine, brakes, suspension instead of paint!
