the old 2.2 "kv" lump, 136bhp. its not guna feel fast, driving the quattro drive train and pulling the weight around. tho it shouldnt feel slow. bare in mind it has been sat for that long, will need to loosen up with a good drive! check the flap in the airflow meter isnt partially seized? gently lift it up and check. don't man mandle it tho its easy to put the fueling out shuving it around.
that interior is in very good nick! drivers seat in mine was pretty shagged with only 112k on it.

Not the greatest out there put it that way , It wasnt built for this , engine was built by GTI engineering for torque ( about 170bhp ) so not blindingly quick but felt like it would climb a wall , VERY cammy and i got very little under 3000rpm , bilstien shockers and custom made springs and polly bushes made the suspension so hard it felt like it had no moving parts , THE BEST HANDLING car ive ever driven , ( i do miss my baby )

It does feel slow. But it does need a 100% good going over/re-commision. Ta for the airflow meter tip, I'll have a prod later. I was suprised how good the interior is. Most I've seen are quite worn, especially the drivers seat, even with well below 100k miles.

I remember GTi Engineering back in the day. They turned out some stunning stuff. I saw a 90q for sale a while ago with an overbored 2.5 Oettenger lump!!

Nice one! But remember, there are 2 radiator airflow covers originally attached. If these are missing, the 5 Pots tend to overheat. I've been there before with my Passat, pain big time! The covers are no longer available, maybe someone on the Audi board can provide a pattern for them.

Nothing more satisfying than cleaning a real dirty car and it coming up like that. The Quattro may not be blindingly fast by modern standards, but you don't have to slow down for the corners! Interestingly the standard 90s seemed to be really rust resistant but I have seen quite a few rusty Quattros. Yours seems to have lasted well.

Lack of time, space plus too many ongoing projects etc meant she had to go. To really rub salt into the wound, the chap was buying her to turn her into the 20v turbo jobbie that I had sooo wanted to do myself! Her new home less than 20 miles away.. He did the conversion and re-comissioned her + thrashed her about for a few weeks! Anyway, I bought her back about 6 weeks ago!!!
