For a good few years now we have had a group of ducks appear in our garden. They normally arrive first thing in the morning, hang around all day and fly off again as it starts to get dark.
This happens all the way from spring right through to the end of summer, then we don't see them again until next spring.
They spend most of the time in our pond - I guess its more peaceful for them than over at the local park. We feed them bread most days seeing as they like it here.
Remember, this is city centre - not some remote part of the countryside! I live in a built up area and never thought I'd be getting ducks arriving every year.
Anyway - back to the reason for this post.
This morning I got back from walking the dog and headed upstairs to get some invoices written. 10 mins later I hear the dog whining and go downstairs to see what's up.......only to be greeted with this sight in the living room:
It seems our resident ducks have taken a liking to our house as well as our garden & pond!
I think the dog was jsut freaked out at having these things in his space.
I had to coax them back out of the house with bread (they do like their bread!)
Nearly there:
Once outside, I am happy again. The dog isn't bothered by them at all and in fact seems to enjoy hanging around with them (as long as it's in the garden!) He usually chases ducks over at the park, so I find it amusing that he gets on with these ones....
Back in their usual place - where ducks belong:
This is how friendly they are (these are wild ducks - not pet ones)
I thought it was funny despite having to mop the whole downstairs - boy do they like to curse word a lot!!
