If any of you folks can help, I'd be really grateful.
I'm looking for a set of 155/55/14 tyres but can't track any down despite my best efforts!
I've rung Camskill (who used to list them) and also Mytyres (who used to list them) with no luck! "No longer stocked sir"
I've googled the size and found a few threads on VW forums etc...but all point to Mytyres!
If anyone can help track a set down, I'd be really grateful. Looks to me that they might not be producing them anymore??
Thanks for any help.
Bruce.

Thats me done then, I'm out of ideas....apart from Clubpolo the VW site, they seem to be the people that are asking for them the most, might pay to join up and ask there

Hey MM I've had a glance at 155/55 R14s myself to ponder the feasibility of upgrading to 14" wheels on my Mira (the bulk of people in Japan run this size on Kei-cars with 14s), I have to say I didn't have any success I'm afraid. If you find a way I'm interested, especially as you can get some really nice tyres in Kei-car size - proper sports ones etc.

a mate of mine works at a garage that can get hold of federals, only thing is the garage he works at is a good 60 miles from bristol. if you want i can pm you the number of the garage you could easilly get away with using 165/55s on a 6j, just wont give any stretch

I had the self same problem and couldn't find them ended up with 165/60 as they were about £10 a corner cheaper than 155/60.
Nankang don't seem to supply them here any more.

Hmm, thats a damn shame if they don't make em no more, cause they look damn good They still make them - Nankang still list them on their website. It's getting hold of them here in the UK that's the tough bit. I spent the best part of a day on the phone trying to track some down. I ended up on the phone to the 6 main tyre importers/stockholders that supply all of the UK's tyres. We are talking the big boys - the guys who supply the stock Camskill, Kwik-Fit, ATS and pretty much all the tyre centres/shops etc.... They will not bring any in because it's not a 'popular' size. They buy up and inport tyres at around 20,000 a time and won't deal in small orders from a Joe Bloggs (obviously) but it was interesting to know that the main retailers of tyres can only buy from the choice that these stockholders bring in. You might have more luck in Norway though? I did speak to the head office of MyTyres (a German company) and even they won't stock them anymore. Tire Rack in America don't even list this size now. Not looking hopeful? If you get any news from your side of the channel, please let me know. I've always loved the look of your wheel/tyre combo ever since you showed me those photos many months ago. Grizz has a possible solution, but I'll need to call him to find out a bit more before I get my hopes too high. Thanks again everyone for the help and pointers.

Thanks Tado, I've just rung them and Stuart was very helpful. He remembers your car ("funny little Japanese thing" but he seems to think he fitted 165/55's to it. He's got a few leads he's going to chase up for me and he says he'll call me later. So most of all, thanks for the pointer....I really hope he can come up with something? Thanks also for the comments on the cars - always nice to get some feedback.
