As imperial said no need to buy anything new for the back just adjust the little rod. The two photos of mine show the rear at full height and full drop just adjusted on the rod. They don't have struts on the back on the TE's, they are hydraulic so have rams and spheres. Also have a pump off the cam for the self-levelling a bit like a citreon. Very easy when you look into how they work. I have not seen any lowering springs for sale for the TE prob due to the rear but I guess the fronts off any W124 would fit the front of the TE. where abouts is thas rod? How do i adjust it? I'm not really up on this hydraulic suspension business, all i know is i want it lower, the front springs arnt a broblem, couple of coils out, job done! lol

You will see the rear anti-rollbar. On the bar will be a small rod connecting to a arm on a "device". This device is what governs how much fluid is pumped from the engine bay mounted pump and resovoir to the top of the rear damper units to bring the ride height back up when the car is laden down with weight. Disconnect the little rod for the minute and remove and chop your rear springs in the normal way (I have always found it easier on these cars to undo the inner swing arm nuts and bolts with a jack under the arm and slowly let the jack down freeing the spring). After you have replaced your lowered spring get the car sitting on its wheels on ramps as in gtigoods picture so you can get under it safely with the cars full weight on its suspension. You will now see that the little rod is too long to be connected back up. It is threaded so wind the end in until it connects back up without moving the arm on the accumulator. With that done the car will ride low and if you have some weight in the back, instead of sinking onto the bumpstops, when you start the engine the rear will rise up to the normal (now lowered) ride height. Hope this is clear and makes sense!

push the leaver/arm on the 'device' up towards the car floor and the car will rise(if engine is on), pull it down to the road and car comes down(watch your head!). Leaver in the middle stops the flow of oil and the car will stay at the height its at.

i cut 2 1/2 coils out of the rear of the scalloped estate, when the rod is adjusted the car HAS to sit back on the coils,as its self levelling system assisting the rear springs, adjusting the susp to full height will mean the springs are rendered useless and will fall out,.plus the ride will be pretty much like a citroen at full height therefore you might lose teeth, and i cant see the accumulators lasting more than a hundred miles !! adjusting the rod to make the car sit lower will only work if there is short, cut,or lowered springs in place, again adjusted too much ie overtightening of the rod would , id imagine cause all sorts of issues
