Cream is cool- S class look awesome in this colour Yours afaik looks like a cosmetic facelift - but these were from G reg Sept 89 incorrect my friend. this is a pre facelift E class, '86 - '93 fitted with the single cam M102 motor. facelifted W124s ran from '94 - '97 and the 4 cyl models were fitted with an M111 twin cam. pre facelift  facelifted  hth.  |

Two facelifts on the W124s. Up to late 89 - no side mouldings or bumper chromes, plain door handles. Late 89 to 93 side mouldings, bumper chromes, chrome trim in door handles, improved interiors with foam-filled seats instead of springs (like OT car) then final facelift, renamed E-Class, new multi-valve engines, different bonnet/grille, bumpers and lights. Early, up to late 89.  Late, from from 93.    |

Oh my god mate only just spotted this! Do you think you could have found one just a bit more beige? What's up with the Mk1? It could be more beige for my liking i may have to address that at a later date! lol, The golf has started running very, very hot, suspect head gasket, and it has been using oil for some time, so the time felt right to whip the engine apart, sort it all out, and perfory my top seceret performance upgrade, My choice of the HIF44 carb will soon become clear! lol Thanks for all the comments Guys! Thanks Imperial, il have a go at whipping that door card off! Also are the facelift bonnet and bumpers interchangerable with the earlier models? I prefer the facelift bonnet and Grill arangement! |

Yeah bonnet and bumpers bolt straight on, rear bumper wasnt changed on the estate just colour coded. You can change the headlight glasses to suit the new bonnet but the old ones still fit.

Yeah bonnet and bumpers bolt straight on, rear bumper wasnt changed on the estate just colour coded. You can change the headlight glasses to suit the new bonnet but the old ones still fit. oooo think I'm gonna have to keep ma eyes peeled for a bonnet then, one of ma headlights fogs up, so may as well go for facelift headlights too! |

Hi Guys thats for all the comments and discussion!
I'm havin a bit of a problem, my passanger window has packed up, the motor is turning, but the window doesnt move, I managed to get the door card off, and there is a big sprocket that i think should be turning but isnt, do i now need to remove the mechanism from the door to investigate further? I doesnt bother me, but i have a few friends that smoke, and so i need a passanger windon that goes down to let their nasnty smoke out of the car!

Oh and while i think on i need an oppinion, i have orderded clear indicators for the front, and clear side repeaters too, i want to do something at the rear too, either smoke the rear clusters, or do them all red VIP style, what do you think?

I used to own one of the very late pre face lift W124s, a 300. It was on a G plate and didn't have the side mouldings so, on an F, it would, originally, have had no side mouldings I believe.....but there was quite a market in retro fitting these mouldings onto earlier cars as their owners tried to keep them looking 'up to date'!

Yes a lot were updated to facelift spec, I did a lot myself (and 190Es). Unusual to see the interior done as well though - would have cost someone a pretty penny!!

Low deffinatly is better, but I'm a bit concerned i may have active ride, so thinkin i will have to change the struts, rather than just chopping the springs, lol, and I'm throwing all my dough at the VW at the moment!

By active ride do you mean self-levelling rear suspension?
When youve fitted/chopped your springs just adjust the link rod between the rear anti-rollbar and the accumulator and you'll still have self-levelling - only it will self level to your new low ride height.

As imperial said no need to buy anything new for the back just adjust the little rod. The two photos of mine show the rear at full height and full drop just adjusted on the rod.
They don't have struts on the back on the TE's, they are hydraulic so have rams and spheres. Also have a pump off the cam for the self-levelling a bit like a citreon. Very easy when you look into how they work.
I have not seen any lowering springs for sale for the TE prob due to the rear but I guess the fronts off any W124 would fit the front of the TE.
