The final score would be 12 - but I doubt they will come my way. I just put a bid on in case they don't meet reserve and offer it cheap to any bidders.. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) The estate is kinda interesting. Funny how it escaped their memory that the fuel tank was missing... I'm thinking that would make it hard to drive. www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Morris/auction-227493730.htmI'm wondering if any other large parts may have been removed and overlooked.. engine..? No under-bonnet photos.! Shall continue to ask embarrassing questions.

Perhaps they had to remove all the potentially flamable bits before they put it on display? Might explain the comment about the brakes and clutch. ;D

Do you have a good master cylinder amongst the parts you've stripped off your "donor" cars? Have emailed the Trademe seller in Wellington - hopefully I'll get a response this time. ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) Did the 1700 ever get inertia-reel seat belts in the rear seats? My boss back in 1982 had a 1700 wagon, thought it had i-r belts, but can't be certain (must be getting old! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) )

An update on this car - after several years. "JZ" gave reasonable service despite doing some strange things in the transmission dept. On occasions it would suddenly spew volumes of fluid from the transmission breather for no apparent reason - then soon afterwards would lose forward motion - quite understandable. Refilling the auto would restore normal transmission until the next time. Sue drove it some distance with the handbrake on - after which it blew the head gasket. Maybe these things were related. I replaced the gasket and cleaned the car up a bit. It looked and performed quite well at this time. ![](http://homepages.vodafone.co.nz/~fourwalls/jz01.jpg) Some time later it suddenly lost compression on No.4 cylinder. Decision time...
